Section Lines on the Leaderboard

Updated over 4 months ago

This feature is available for the following products

In a Stroke Play or Stableford tournament, there might be a cut line on the leaderboard. However, there might be other "lines" that you want to display on the leaderboard in addition to the cut line. Section lines allow you to display any other "lines" that you need on the leaderboard.

For example, when running an 18-hole local Stroke Play qualifier where only the top 5 players qualify, but you also have two alternates, you might need a line to display those details. While the cut line shows the players that qualified, you can use a section line to display the two alternates (as shown below).

In this article, we will discuss how to set up section lines. If you need more details on using cut lines, Click Here.

Setting Up a Section Line:

To set up a section line within the tournament, follow these instructions:

  1. Edit/Create a tournament:

    1. Single Round Tournament: To create a section line for a single-round tournament, go to Rounds > Tournaments > New Tournament.

    2. Multi-Round Tournament: To create section lines for a multi-round tournament, go to Event > Multi-Round Tournaments > Add New Multi-Round Tournament.

  2. Select the Advanced Options for "Cut Lines & Sections."

  3. Select "New Section."

  4. You can then set the section line parameters (as shown below).

  5. Click "Continue" and then "Save" to save the tournament.

The following parameters are available when setting a section line:

  • Show Section in Round (Multi-Round Tournaments Only with Round-by-Round Snapshop Enabled): Select which round(s) the section line should be shown during the tournament. Remember that you will not see this option if setting up a single round tournament.

  • Section Message: Enter the text that should be displayed between the section players and non-section players on the leaderboard. In the example below, we made a section line for Alternates.

  • The following players will make the section line: What players will be shown above the section line or below? The low 7 players plus the ties? If this option is chosen, you may or may not need to resolve ties. Another option would be to set the section at a particular score. For instance, maybe any player that finished +10 over par or better is shown above the section line.

  • DQ/WD/DNF/NS Players: If you want to group all your players with non-active status at the end of the leaderboard, choose this option. This option is only available for a multi-round tournament when choosing "All Rounds." In the example below, you can see that players with status (e.g., DQ, WD, DNF) are grouped below the section line at the end of the leaderboard.
