Q: We are having a mixed Four Ball (best ball) event where the men and women play from different tees. The par for the men's tee also happens to be different than the par for the women's tee. How will the leaderboard be ranked? By low net score or by relation to par?
A: If you are calculating Playing Handicaps by applying the relative par difference (option found in the Handicap Settings tab of the Event Profile), the final leaderboard will be ranked by low total score. However, when "In Progress", the live leaderboard will be ranked in relation to the baseline par.
If you are not calculating Playing Handicaps by applying the relative par difference, the answer depends on the settings that are being applied in the Tournaments and Scorings tab of your Event/League Profile. Go to Event/League > Event/League Profile > Tournaments & Scoring and select one of the available rank options (as shown below).
There are two options:
Rank by Lowest Total Score: This option will rank the players by the lowest score. Keep in mind that, while in progress, the leaderboard will be ranked in relation to the baseline par.
Rank by Lowest Score in Relation to Par: This option ranks in relation to the par being played by the players. This is recommended for multi-round, multi-course tournaments where all courses are played by the end of the competition.
To help illustrate the difference, take a look at the leaderboard below:
The hole with the different par is hole #1. If using the "Lowest Net" score option, Johnson's score will be used for that hole. If using the "Lowest to Par Score", Collins' score will be used instead.
