Event/League Profile: (League/Event > League/Event Profile) These settings are accessed and applied to specific events and leagues. When creating a new event or league, the settings are cloned from the Default Settings in your Customer Center. Click Here for details.
Round Profile: (Rounds > Round Profile) These settings are applied to a specific round within an event or league. They are cloned from the Event/League Profile. Click Here for details.
In summary, your Default Settings propagate to the Event/League Profile of all your events and leagues which also propagate further to all of the rounds within that league or event.
Round Status:
Note: This feature is available only available by request for Golf Genius TM Club Premium, Association, and Trip Manager customers.
Typically only used for leagues, you can automate round status changes to "In Progress" and "Completed." For more details on automating round status, Click Here.
Leaderboards:
How do you want to rank players on the leaderboard?: In cases where mixed tournament competitions are played where the tees have different par's (e.g., women's tee has a different than the men's tee, you can select how you'd like the leaderboard scored and ranked. You can rank by net score or "to Par". For more details on this option, Click Here. Note: This option is only available if you are calculating Course Handicap without applying relative par difference (option found in the Handicap Settings tab of the Event Profile).
Select a default tie breaking method: No need to break ties manually. Select your tie-breaking method here. If you need to override this for a specific tournament, you can do that as well when setting up that tournament. For more info on these tie-breaking methods, Click Here.
When "retain ties" is used, how do you want to rank the players?: For competitions where tie breaking is not used (ties retained), the tied players can be ordered on the leaderboard using one of the following methods:
Rank by USGA method: By Tee Time (for the current round), Course Priority (controlled in the Course Details for the event/league), Starting Hole (for the current round), and Position in the Pairing Group (order in which the player is organized on the tee sheet within his/her pairing group).
Rank by PGA Method: By Tee Time, Position in Pairing Group, Starting Hole, and Course Priority)
Rank by JGA method (Attestation Sequence Number) (JGA Customer Only): By the attestation sequence number for a player, set when entering scores. For more details, Click Here.
Do you want to apply tie breaking to in progress leaderboards?: If using live scoring, you can retain or break ties for players/teams who have completed their round (while the round is in progress). Click Here for more details.
Choose whether you would like to display additional information on the leaderboard: Select the custom fields (if any) to be displayed next to player names on the leaderboard. Custom fields like affiliation, city, state, and home club are typically displayed next to player names on the leaderboard. Click "+" to select and display multiple custom fields next to player names. See the example below of a leaderboard that includes player city and state.
For details on setting additional information by tournament, Click Here.
Customize the leaderboard header: The column headers (shown below) for your leaderboard, tv leaderboard, and printed leaderboards, can be renamed. This is helpful in cases where you'd like to shorten the header titles or adjust the terminology. For more details, Click Here.
Flight Name on Leaderboards: If the name of the Flight does not already contain the word "Flight", it is automatically added (e.g., If a flights name is "Nicklas", it will appear in the leaderboard as "Nicklas Flight"). Check the option "Do not append the word "Flight" to the Flight Name on Leaderboards" to remove the word "Flight" from being automatically appended to a Flight's Name on Leaderboards.
Participation Points:
Typically only used for leagues, players/teams can earn participation points for every round in which they play. You can also set the minimum number of holes that need to be played in order to earn participation points.
Participation points can be awarded to players, teams, or players and teams. When selecting teams, you must select which team list for participation points to be awarded. If you have large teams, you can also set the maximum number of players per team who are eligible to earn participation points applied to the team. These points only go to league/event standings. They do not go to season points.
Points and Purse:
There are two Points and Purse options:
Do you want a player acting as a Blind to share in purse and points just like any actual player in the group?: They would essentially be "double dipping". For instance, in a Four-Ball competition, If Steve is partnered with Jeff, he will receive points for this performance on that team. If another team is missing a player, and Steve is selected as the blind for that missing player, he will also receive points for his performance with that team.
Are the purse and points for a pair or pairing group fully allocated even if the pair or pairing group is missing players?: Click on whether you want all the points or purse to be paid out if a player on a team is missing or the team is using a blind. For instance, if the pot for the winning team is 100 points in a competition using foursomes, and the winning team is only a threesome (playing with a blind), each player will get 25 points. However, if you check the box here, the threesome will split the points evenly (33.33 points each)
Totals or Hole-by-Hole Scores:
When entering scores for a round:
How would you like to enter scores?
for each hole
as 9-hole totals
as 18-hole totals
18 hole score entry is the quickest way to enter scores because you enter only one number for each player. However, when using 9 Hole or 18 hole score entry, there are some limitations:
Match Play, Quota, Skins, and Other Formats will not be available or score correctly
Decreases the amount and depth of statistics and analytics for players.
Restricts you to only stroke play tournaments.
Restricts you from posting scores to your handicap service provider.
For details on entering 9-hole and 18-hole totals, Click Here.
When playing a match play tournament, how do you want match results to be entered? Match Play tournaments have an alternative entry method. Instead of entering hole-by-hole strokes for each golfer, you can opt for selecting the winning individual/team per hole. Note: Only available when "for each hole" is selected.
Stokes: Enter the strokes on the hole and Golf Genius will determine the hole winner.
Winner per Hole: Instead of entering the stokes on the hole, just enter, Win/Tile/Loss. Note: There are some limitation to this method, as it decrease the depth of statistics and analytics and restricts you from posting scores to your handicap service provider.

18 / 9 Hole Scoring:
This selection is used primarily to help with determining statistics for the round. If all or most of the rounds are 18-hole rounds, select that option. Otherwise, select 9-hole rounds.
Player Separator:

When using extra holes for a match play tie-breaker, you can predefine the extra holes to be used. For more details, Click Here.
Stableford and Quota:
There are options on how to rank live (In Progress) leaderboards for Stableford and Quota tournaments.
Score In Progress Stableford in Relation to Par: When playing Stableford, by default, the leaderboard is ranked by the total Stableford Points. However, when live scoring is used, sometimes it is preferred that the leaderboard is ranked in Relation to Par.
Score In Progress Quota in relation to Trend Quota: If checked, live Quota tournament leaderboards will be ranked by trend quota instead of +/- Quota. Click Here for an FAQ explaining the two options in detail.
College Scoring:
There are options on how to rank live (In Progress) leaderboards for College Scoring formats, Best Team Players and Best Team Scores.
Considered part of the team score and displayed as even par for the round: If this option is chosen, during a round set to inprogress, players will be considered to be part of the team score even if they have no scores. These players will be considered to be even par.
Not considered part of the team score and displayed as no score for the round: If this option is chosen, during a round set to inprogress, players will not be considered to be part of the team score until at least one score is entered. These players will be displayed no score even par for the round and are not considered part of the team score.

In all cases, the priority is Kana Last Name, then Kana First Name, and finally the Actual Handle if no Kana spellings are available.
