What does it mean to validate a skin?

Updated over 5 months ago

Q: Setting up a skins tournament right now. What does it mean to validate a skin?

A: In a skins that requires validation, two things need to happen in order for a skin to be won.

  • A player must get the lowest score on a hole without anyone tying him or her.

  • That player must then validate the skin on the following hole with whatever the validation requires (bogey, par, birdie).

Note: If two players tie for the lowest score on a hole, but only one validates on the next hole, no skin is won.
