How can I set up Match Play vs. Par?

Updated over 4 months ago

Q: I am trying to set up a "match play vs. par" tournament. Every player is to play a match against par. How can I set this up?

A: Even though they may be playing in foursomes, organize the pairings in our system as twosomes. Then, set up the match play tournament as shown below.

If playing singles vs. par, select "Player v. Player (1v3 & 2v4)" as the Competition. If playing pair vs. par, select "Pair v. Pair (1&2 v. 3&4). Also make sure to select "Play vs. Par" when no opponents.

Above is an example leaderboard for a singles vs. par tournament.

Another alternative, if you prefer to have foursomes created in the system rather than twosomes, is to create a stableford tournament giving one point for anything better than par, zero for par, and -1 for anything worse than par (as shown below).

When setting up this type of option, the leaderboard will look like this.

KT Perry had the best match vs. par by winning 2 up.
