Golf Genius and Golfshot have partnered to create a powerful integration that allows golfers to seamlessly enter scores from the Golfshot app, which then flow directly to tournaments managed in Golf Genius. This collaboration streamlines the tournament scoring experience, making it easier for players to utilize the advanced features of Golfshot while their scores automatically update on your Golf Genius leaderboards.
When setting up Live Scoring for an event, there are two primary options: Pairing Group Scoring and Digital Scorecards. This article focuses on the Golfshot integration, which utilizes Pairing Group Scoring.
Pairing Group Scoring: This is the standard mobile app scoring type typically used in a club environment. Each pairing group is assigned a Foursome GGID, and one player in the group is responsible for using that GGID to sign into the mobile app and enter scores.
Digital Scorecards: This type of scoring is for more organized and competitive events where players are assigned their own Player GGID. After signing in, they can act as a marker to enter scores for other players and certify scores after the round. For details on using Digital Scorecards, Click Here.
When a player uses the Golfshot app for scoring, they have access to a variety of enhanced on-course functionality, including:
Live leaderboards for real-time updates
GPS distances to the front, middle, and back of the green
The ability to track stats and their handicap
An optional phone-free experience with Apple Watch integration
Free use of Golfshot Pro during the tournament
To access the mobile portal, round signups, and other native features, players must use the Golf Genius Mobile App.
This article will outline the necessary steps to activate and manage this integration within your events.
Setting up Events and Leagues for Live Scoring:
In addition to the usual setup steps (e.g., add players, create pairings, create tournaments, set course/tee), you need to do the following to allow for live scoring during a round:

When the round is "In Progress," the leaderboard will go live and update automatically as scores are entered.
