Method 1: Renew Tokens via Facebook Login (Recommended)
This is the fastest and easiest method and should be used whenever Facebook login is available.
Steps to Renew Tokens
Open the Trackify app from your Shopify admin.
Log out of your connected Facebook account from within the Trackify app.
Log back into Trackify using your Facebook account.
Once logged in, a popup will appear on the Trackify dashboard prompting you to renew your tokens.
Click “Renew Tokens”.
Approve all requested permissions when prompted by Facebook.
Your Facebook tokens will renew successfully.
When to Use This Method
You can log in with Facebook
Method 2: Manual Method – Access Token
Use this method if:
You cannot log in with Facebook
You are using TikTok or Snapchat
Step A: Open Pixel Settings in Trackify
Go to Trackify → Facebook
Select the pixel
Click the three-dot (⋮) More Actions
Click Edit Pixel
Step B: Enable Server-Side API in Trackify
In the Edit Pixel screen:
Enable the Server-Side API option
Locate the Access Token field
Keep this page open
Step C: Generate Access Token in Event Manager
For Facebook:
Open Facebook Events Manager
Go to Data Sources
Select your Pixel
Open Settings
Scroll to Conversions API
Click Set up direct integration
Click Generate Access Token
Copy the token
Step D: Save the Token in Trackify
Paste the copied token into the Access Token field in Trackify
Click Save / Update Pixel
Staying Informed About Token Expirations
To avoid tracking interruptions, Trackify allows you to receive email notifications before or when a token expires.
How to Enable Notifications
Go to the Notification section inside the Trackify app.
Add your email address.
You will receive an email alert whenever your Facebook token is close to expiring or has expired.
Important Information About Token Expiration
Token Control
All Facebook tokens are generated and controlled by Facebook. Trackify does not create or manage token lifespans but provides visibility and renewal options through the dashboard.
Notifications
When a token expires, Trackify automatically sends an email notification, provided your email address is added in the Notification section.
Token Lifespan
Trackify stores long-term tokens, which usually remain active for 3–4 weeks. However, expiration timing can vary due to Facebook’s internal security policies and checks.
Tips to Extend the Lifespan of Facebook Tokens
While token expiration cannot be fully prevented, the following practices can help reduce frequent renewals:
Use strong security settings
Enable strong passwords and two-factor authentication (2FA) on your Facebook account.Avoid multiple device logins
Logging into Facebook from many devices at the same time may trigger security checks.Limit active sessions
Keep the number of devices logged into your Facebook account to a minimum.
