A shared location is the link between a transport order in the TOPS Control Tower and a slot in the Time Slot Booking app. This is where Flo can work her magic and make things happen with the snap of her little digital fingers.

Before you can start booking slots for your transport orders, we’ll guide you through some steps on how to link locations.

First of all, your location should be created in both the TOPS Control Tower and in Slot Booking, and they should be linked. If this is not done properly, Flo won’t know which transport orders require a slot and to which location the transport order should be sent. Flo hates feeling stupid, so please spare her this embarrassment.

Create a location in your Time Slot Booking application

(If you’ve already created a location here, you can skip this step and go to “Copy the ID”)

  • Go to your Time Slot Booking application
    https://slotbooking.operations.transporeon.com/

  • Go to your settings via the cog icon at the bottom of your navigation bar

  • Click on 'Locations & Facilities' in the extra sidebar that appears

  • Click on the '+ New Location' button at the right top of the page

  • Go through all the questions in all the steps and fill in the correct information

  • Save the location

Copy the ID of your location in your Time Slot Booking application

When your location is created and saved, you will see the ID in your location settings.

  • Go to your Time Slot Booking application

  • Go to your settings

  • Click on the location you want to link with the TOPS Control Tower

  • Copy the ID

Link your Time Slot Booking location with your TOPS Control Tower location

  • Open TOPS Control Tower

  • Go to your master data and create a location or use an existing one:

    • New location:

      • Click 'New'

      • Make sure you fill in the following fields:

        • Division

        • Location code (random number)

        • Location type

        • Address

        • Unit / Bldg / Apt

        • Postcode

        • City

        • Country

        • Location ID (paste the ID you've just copied in Time Slot Booking)

      • Click 'Save'

    • Create a new location

      • Click on the 'Edit’ button to edit the location

      • Scroll to the bottom of the window. You can paste the copied ID in the ‘Location ID’ field of the Slot Booking section.

      • Click ‘Update’

Congratulations, your locations are now linked!

That's it, that’s all! Well done. Flo now has what she needs to make sure your locations are connected to each other. She loves making connections any way she can. So now the TOPS Control Tower will recognize your location(s) as relevant for Slot Booking during the order creation flow. All shared locations will have slot range as an additional input field on the material & transport order forms.

All transport orders with a shared slot booking location will automatically flow to Slot Booking and will be handled according to the applicable booking rules.
