How to Use the Flight Calculator:
The Flight Calculator lets you enter the details of any flight and instantly see how many Tier Points and Miles (e.g. Avios) you would earn before you book. It supports multiple airline loyalty programs simultaneously.
Access Level: Free users can view and track booked flights. Paid users also get the option to compare flights before booking, which shows you what partner airlines flying the same route offer in terms of points earning before you commit to a booking.
Opening the Flight Calculator:
Click Flight Calculator in the left-hand navigation menu.
Selecting Your Loyalty Program:
At the top of the calculator, select your program tab. Tabs shown include American Airlines and British Airways.
Click + Add Program to add another airline's program to the comparison.
Entering Flight Details:
From: Select your departure airport from the FROM dropdown.
To: Select your destination airport from the TO dropdown.
Ticket Price: Enter the total ticket price including taxes.
Dates: Enter your outbound and return dates.
Booking Reference (optional): Enter your booking reference for record-keeping.
Flight Number: Enter the flight number (e.g. BA444).
Cabin Class: Select one of the cabin class buttons Economy, Premium, Business, or First.
Fare Family: Click the Fare family dropdown to select the specific fare type (e.g. J, W). This affects the points multiplier applied.
Calculating Points:
Once all fields are filled in, click the Calculate points button. The results appear below the form in two panels.
Understanding the Results
Status Progress panel (left):
Shows your projected progress towards the next status tier (e.g. Progress to Gold at 36%).
Displays your current Tier Points balance and the target (e.g. 7,299 / 20,000).
Shows the status Reset Date.
Tier Point Calculation breakdown: Ticket price, Total tax, Net fare, Cabin bonus, and Total Tier Points.
Miles Progress panel (right):
Shows the total Earn Points from this flight (e.g. +10,192).
An Avios Calculation breakdown showing: Base Avios, Status bonus, Cabin bonus, and Total Avios.
Saving the Flight:
After reviewing the calculation, click Save Flight to add this flight to your My Flights section. Paid users can save flights as Draft (for flights being considered) or Booked (for confirmed bookings). This allows you to compare potential flights before committing and track your actual bookings separately.
