How to Use the BA Holidays Accelerator to Earn Bonus Tier Points
The BA Holidays Accelerator calculates how many Tier Points and bonus Avios you would earn from a BA Holidays package — a combined flight and hotel or car booking made through British Airways Holidays. BA Holidays packages earn extra Tier Points above the standard flight-only rate.
Accessing the BA Holidays Accelerator
Click BA Holidays in the left-hand navigation menu under Smarter Tools.
Entering Your Trip Details
Flight number (e.g. BA440)
Number of passengers — use the − and + buttons to adjust.
Trip type — Return is the default.
Travel date
Outbound legs and Return legs — number of flight legs each way.
Outbound Cabin and Return Cabin — select from Euro Trav (+75), Club EU (+175), World Trav (+150), WT Plus (+275), Club World (+400), or First (+550).
Single-transaction checkbox: Tick this if your booking combines a flight and hotel or car in one BA Holidays transaction — required to qualify for bonus Tier Points.
Understanding the Results
Progress ring (left panel): Shows the percentage progress towards your next status tier, current points, points this trip adds per passenger, projected total, and Gap to Gold (or target tier).
Tier Points per Passenger panel (right):
Base: Standard Tier Points from the flight (e.g. 2,724).
Extra: Bonus Tier Points from the BA Holidays package (e.g. 550).
Total: Combined Tier Points per passenger (e.g. 3,274).
Cost per TP: The cost per Tier Point earned (e.g. £0.83).
Bonus Avios: Extra Avios from the BA Holidays package (e.g. +5,448).
Total (all pax): Total Tier Points across all passengers.
When Credits Land
Base tier points: Up to approximately 7 days post-trip.
Extra tier points: Within 24–72 hours post-trip.
Bonus Avios: Approximately 4–6 weeks post-trip.
Saving and Booking
Click Save as Planned to record this scenario in your TravelSmarter plans.
Click Mark as Booked to confirm the trip is booked and begin tracking it towards your goals.
Click Open BA Holidays to go directly to the British Airways Holidays booking page.
