What is the KPIs function

The KPI (Key Performance Indicator) function helps track and measure the success of specific business goals. It allows you to set measurable targets—such as sales growth, customer satisfaction or labour cost management—and monitor performance in real-time.

How to set up KPIs

Before creating KPIs, please ensure that your role has been granted access to the KPI feature.

  1. Go to System Role in the configuration (the cog icon in the top right-hand corner).

  2. Enable "Access to KPIs".

Once your role has been granted the access to KPIs feature, you can follow these steps to set up the KPIs:

  1. Go to KPIs in the configuration (the cog icon in the top right-hand corner) where you'll find two options:

    • Create KPI Grouping: Create a group to organise multiple KPIs together.

    • Create KPI: Create an individual KPI.

  2. Select Create KPI Grouping.

  3. Enter a name for the group and a position for the order in which it appears.

  4. Select Create KPI.

  5. Name the KPI and add an external reference if applicable.

  6. Select the group this KPI should sit within.

  7. Choose the desired data type from number, currency or percentage, and whether the value will be user-entered or automatically calculated based on your customised calculation settings.

  8. If "Custom Calculation" is selected, a pop-up section will appear and require you to complete the calculation settings.

  9. Enter the display position, and specify whether this KPI should appear on the flash report.

  10. Click Create.

Once created, the KPI will sit under the assigned KPI group, and a new section called "KPIs" will appear in the Flash Report. To update the KPI data, go to the Flash Report and enter the relevant figures in the KPIs section.
