How to build a Sensor Board

You can use a sensor board to manage data such as temperature and cost

Before building a maintenance board, you must first create assets or locations with attached properties, ensuring you can monitor the relevant data for each asset or location on the board. Learn how to build an asset here:

How do I build a sensor board

  1. Head over to Smart Boards in the configure portal.

  2. Click on the Add Board button in the top right-hand corner.

  3. Give your board a name and select Sensor in the Board Type.

  4. Select the item you want to monitor, in this example, we are going to select Assets.

  5. Select the owner and the department.

  6. Define where it will be completed at.

  7. Move to Monitoring Settings and complete the necessary information.

    • Monitored Asset Group/Business Entity: The asset group/the entity that needs to be monitored.

    • Monitored Section: The section that needs to be monitored.

    • Monitored Property: The relevant data that needs to be tracked, such as the repair cost.

    • Default Item Background: You can choose either white or green as the default background colour.

  8. Complete Assign Responsibilities.

    • Monitor: Who will have the access to the board and can add records.

    • Manager: Who will be managing the board.

    • Observer: Who will be overseeing the board.

  9. Click Create.

  10. Once created, you will see a Workflow section where you can link the record to the board.

    • Enable Update of Monitored Property: Specify whether monitored properties can be updated and who is authorised to make updates.

    • Link Record: The record that will be pre-selected or chosen by the team member.

    • Record: Select the specific pre-selected record that will be used.
