Logit system with the Assets, Smart Boards, and Logit Print modules.
Logit Print allows you to print automated food labels, including preparation and expiry dates.
To enable your team to print food labels directly from Logit, you'll need to set up a food prep board in addition to setting up Logit Print.
1. Create food assets
Create an asset group
Asset Groups are used to organise assets into structured categories, making it easier to manage. They help group related assets based on their purpose, location, or type.
Go to Asset Group in the configure portal.
Click Add Group to create 'Food Prep' as Classification, and create food types, such as cooked meats and bakery items, as Physical under 'Food Prep'.
⚠️Please note: Once asset groups are created, their type cannot be changed and they cannot be deleted. Additionally, assets cannot be added to asset groups with a Classification type.
Create assets
Assets are items managed within the organisation that workflows can collect data against.
Go to Assets in the configure portal.
Click Add Asset to create food assets.
Select the appropriate asset group.
Enter the food item name in the Name field. You can add multiple assets by entering each item on a new line.
Assign the food asset to the desired location and department.
Set the status of the food asset.
Click Create.
⚠️Please note: Once the type and the department are assigned, they cannot be altered!
Update asset properties
Go to an individual asset.
Add the relevant information as needed.
You can upload a picture to make the board more visual.
2. Add asset properties
Option 1: Apply an asset group template
Templates can be used to share common properties among different asset groups or entities.
Create an asset group template
Head over to Templates that can be found in the configuration (the cog icon in the top right corner).
Click Add Template.
Give your template a name.
Tick the Use in Asset Groups box.
Hit Create.
Head over to the Properties tab.
Select Add Section to create a section to group your questions.
Click on Add Property to add questions.
Select 'Date' in the Data Type and name the field 'Date In'.
Select 'Standard Buttons' in the Data Type, then add the lifespan options (e.g., 1 day, 2 days) and name the field 'Lifespan'. Next, click on 'User Defined Options - Standard Buttons' and input the corresponding values. For example, assign '1 day' a value of '1' based on the number of days.
Select 'Calculated Date' in the Data Type and name the field 'Date Out'. Then, set up the calculation settings.
Select 'Calculated Timespan' in the Data Type and name the field 'Out In'. Then, set up the calculation settings.
💡TIP
You can add other questions such as 'Allergen Information'.
Apply the template to assets
Go to Asset Groups, and click on the physical group (e.g. Cooked Meats) which needs a template.
Head over to the Properties tab and click Add Section.
Give the section a name, select the suitable template, and click Create.
The template is now applied to assigned assets.
Option 2: Add asset properties directly
Go to Asset Groups, and click on the physical group (e.g. Cooked Meats).
Head over to the Properties tab.
Select Add Section to create a section to group your questions.
Click on Add Property to add questions.
Once added, the asset properties will be linked to the associated assets, allowing the user to add the relevant information accordingly.
3. Create a label board
Create a board
Go to Smart Boards and click on the Add Board button.
Set up Basic Settings:
Name the board and choose Label board type.
Select Assets as the monitored item.
Complete the mandatory fields, including the Owner, Department, and Completed At. ⚠️Make sure the completed at level aligns with the asset location.
Customise Monitoring Settings:
Select the desired monitored asset group and section.
Choose 'Date Out' as the monitored property.
Select the appropriate delegation mode and enable comments as needed.
Select the default background colour.
Assign responsibilities, and click Create:
Monitor: Who will have the access to the board and can add records.
Manager: Who will be managing the board, delegating tasks, and receiving delegated tasks.
Observer: Who will be overseeing the board.
5. Enable label printing
Enable label printing
Go to the Workflow.
Enable label printing. You can decide whether to have a print dialog or not.
Click Save.
💡TIP
Master Assets Location - This option can save you time by avoiding the need to add shared food items as assets to each site or kitchen individually. Food items can be populated across other sites by assigning them to a Master Assets Location.
Set up label printing
Once the label printing has been enabled, a new tab called "Label Printing" will appear.
💡TIP
Logit Print currently only supports the following printer model:
Brother TD-4550DNWB
Once the Use By board has been set up, it will show like this:
