What is a role

Roles define which portals and areas of Logit the user can access.

If a portal (such as the Reporting Portal) does not appear in the 3-dot menu, it means the user does not have the required role permissions to access that portal.

If any modules are missing from the 9-dot menu, it means the user’s role does not include access to those modules.

How do I create a role

  1. Go to Roles in the configure portal.

  2. Click Add Role.

  3. Name the role and enable the necessary portal access for this role.

  4. Click Save, and you'll jump back to the Roles page.

  5. Select the role that you just created.

  6. Go to an available portal tab and enable or disable their access to areas of Logit.

  7. Once it is done, you'll be taken back to the Roles page.

  8. Select the role again to complete the settings for other portals, if needed.

  9. The Applied To tab shows who this role is assigned to.

💡Tips

  • If two user groups have similar access to features in Logit, click the Clone button in the top right corner to copy the settings. You can then adjust the settings for the second group, saving you the effort of creating a new role from scratch.
