If you’re seeing “0” reviews displayed on your dashboard for a connected Facebook page, however you see the reviews on the dashboard and the average rating, this could be due to page role limitations, or business page visibility settings.
Here’s how to resolve the issue and ensure your total reviews count is displayed correctly.
Page Role Limitations
Ensure you have the necessary role (e.g., Admin, Editor) on the Facebook page.
The user associated with the access token must have one of the following roles on the Facebook Page:
• Admin
• Editor
Page Visibility Settings That Affect Reviews
Reviews Tab Disabled
If the Reviews tab on the Facebook Page is turned off, the API will not display review-related data, including review_count.
Fix: Enable the Reviews tab:
Go to your Page.
Navigate to Settings > Templates and Tabs.
Ensure the Reviews tab is active.
Page Restricted by Location or Age
If the Page has location-based or age-based restrictions, data like reviews may not be publicly available, affecting what the API can retrieve.
Fix: Remove restrictions:
Go to Settings > General > Country Restrictions and Age Restrictions.
Set these to “None” or appropriate settings for broader visibility.
Page Unpublished or Limited Visibility
If the Page is unpublished or restricted, its content, including reviews, will not be accessible via the API.
Fix: Check if the Page is published:
Go to Settings > Page Visibility.
Ensure the Page is Published.
Privacy Settings for Reviews
If the Page has privacy settings restricting reviews, it could affect the visibility of review-related fields in the API.
Fix: Verify review privacy settings:
Navigate to Settings > General > Reviews.
Ensure that the option to allow reviews is enabled.
