How do review requests work?
How do review requests work?
Updated over a month ago

Review requests are a great way to generate reviews from your customers.

When you send a review request to your customers, they will click on a link inside your SMS or email messages, which will take them to your review websites where you'd like for them to leave a review.

However, you can control how and when customers see your review websites.

Email example:

There are three different options for Contact Type, which you can select from your Settings Page.

Select Contact Type

From your Settings Page, scroll down to the Contact Type section.

Select the contact type you'd like to use and click Save Changes.

Let's explore the different contact types and how they work.

Direct Link

With the Direct Link contact type, your customers will see your connected review websites as soon as they click the link in your SMS or Email. In the example below, Google is shown for the customer to leave a review on.

You can enable a direct feedback button for the Direct Link option by click the checkbox under the Direct Feedback.

Enabling a direct feedback button gives the customer the ability to give you feedback without writing a potentially negative review. When they click the feedback button, they will see a form to write their feedback. You can also include other contact options below it, like call, text or email. You can remove these from your settings.

Reactions

With Reactions, you can segment customers into positive and negative experiences to give them the best path forward.

You can customize the text and branding of your requests (Not available for Starter plan). Learn more about customization here.

When customers indicate a positive experience by clicking the happy emoji (or any of the other sets of emojis you select), they will be taken to the Reviews screen.

To send them directly to your preferred website after they indicate a positive experience, select the "Redirect to a specific review website" option.

When customers indicate a negative experience, they will be taken to the Feedback screen, where they can provide direct feedback, let you know if they'd like to be contact back, or contact with you the options you provide.

Feedback submitted through the form will be sent to your email address, and will be visible in your Request tab in contacts.

Surveys

Surveys is a 1 through 5 rating system. You can use it to collect customer feedback and ratings for different parts of your business operation. You can also request a review or feedback after the survey is submitted.

Select how you want your customers to rate your questions. Choose from a 1 through 5 rating system, or a Star rating system.

You can add more questions by clicking ADD ANOTHER.

Check the box to ask customers for a review or feedback after the survey is submitted.

You can choose which ratings ask for a review or feedback by selecting one of the radio button options.

Depending on your survey settings, if the average rating of the survey is 5, or between 4 and 5, the customer will be taken to the screen with your review websites.

Depending on your survey settings, if the average rating is between 1 and 4, or 1 and 3, they will be taken to the feedback screen with the option to provide direct feedback.

If the checkbox is not enabled, the customer will see a thank you message when submitting the survey.

Note: Customers that indicate a negative experience, are always given the option to leave a review. Never discourage customers from leaving an honest review.
