Do you have 8 pin cables to sell with the Turbidity Plus?

I have water inside the Turbidity plus can I still get it repaired?

Warranty is voided if water is inside the Turbidity Plus from usage. Exception to that would be if the unit was used directly out of box and a leak was found.

What is the Turbidity Plus performance specifications or tolerance of variability?

The Turbidity plus performance specifications are as listed: Range: 0 – 3,000 NTU, Precision: 0 – 10 NTU (+/- 0.1 NTU), 10 – 1000 NTU (+/- 0.4 NTU), and anything greater than 1000 NTU (+/- 0.04% of NTU). Resolution: Datalogger Specific. Accuracy: Calibration Specific (Turbidity Plus sensors are not factory calibrated)

Is the Turbidity Plus factory calibrated before shipment?

Turbidity Plus sensors are not factory calibrated prior to shipment.

Max number of revolutions on the Turbidity plus motor?

Regarding useful life, we have no results that show failure of the Turbidity Plus motor after a number of wipes. We’ve had these same units in the field for longer than 5 years without issue. I can’t assume they’ve been wiping continuously for 5 years so I have no data on continuous use, however, that’s a good indication that the wipers last a long time.

How do I correct my readings with the Turbidity Plus for changes in temperature?

Turbidity Plus’s voltage response will change as temperature fluctuates. Although, there is no temperature compensation built into the Turbidity Plus, the equation below can be used to correct for changes in temperature to increase data accuracy.

Vtc = [(Ts – Tr) * (-0.0045 mV/Deg C)] + (Vs – Vblk)

  • Vtc is the blank & temp corrected voltage

  • Vblk is the blank response in voltage Vs is the sample’s response in voltage

  • Ts is the sample’s temperature in degrees Celsius

  • Tr is the reference temperature (temp when the probe was calibrated) in degree Celsius

Example: If calibration occurs at 25°C and then the sample temperature is at 30°C, the following calculation would determine the voltage response.
Calibrated Blank measures = 0.5 mV @ 25° C
Calibrated Signal measures = 10.5 mV @ 25° C
Vtc = [(30° C - 25° C) * (-0.0045 mV / Deg C)] + (10.5 mV – 0.5 mV)
Vtc = 9.9775 mV @ 30° C

What calibration standards are recommended for Turbidity Plus?

We recommend the AMCO Clear Turbidity calibration standards for the Turbidity Plus. You may find options here: www.gfschemicals.com Depending on your application, there are different concentration amounts from 10, 100, 1000, and 3000 NTU.

  • 8506 - Amco Clear Turbidity Standard, 10 NTU

  • 8507 - Amco Clear Turbidity Standard, 100 NTU

  • 8620 - Amco Clear Turbidity Standard, 1,000 NTU

  • 8621 - Amco Clear Turbidity Standard, 3,000 NTU

What Turbidity standard concentration should I use for the Turbidity Plus if my application works at lower concentrations?

There are some suggestions we can offer to help pick calibration solutions for different applications when in use with the Turbidity Plus instrument. In general, if your application is working at very low concentrations such as 10 NTU and below, it is advisable to use a 50 NTU Amco Clear Turbidity Standard or lower. However, if you find that you require the full range of the Turbidity plus, from minimum detection to the max, it is better to use the 3000 NTU calibration standard rather than a calibration solution that is at the concentration you are working with.
