If the income shown on your application looks lower than what you actually earn, it is usually because something is missing from your file rather than a problem with your earnings. Here is what to check, and how to ask us to take another look.
1. Check That Everything Was Received
Log in at app.twodots.com using the email address you applied with, and confirm that everything you sent is showing on your application.
It is common for one document to fail to upload, or for a file to be sent somewhere other than the application itself. If anything is missing, upload it again.
2. Check That All of Your Income Is Covered
Many applicants have more than one source of income and only send documents for one. You can select more than one income type in the app, so consider whether you also have:
A second job, or part-time work alongside a main job
Gig or freelance earnings
Benefits, such as Social Security, VA, welfare, or unemployment
Child support or spousal support
Savings, investments, or retirement funds you could qualify with
Other regular income such as royalties, dividends, or rental income
Most of these have their own guide in this Help Center.
3. Check the Documents Themselves
Are they recent? Older documents may not reflect a raise, a new job, or your current pay rate.
Do they cover a full period? A single partial paystub, or one week of a month, shows less than your actual earnings.
Is your pay irregular? If your hours or commission vary, sending several months rather than one gives a fuller picture.
Are they in the right format? Original PDFs downloaded directly from your bank or employer are best. Screenshots, scans, and photos cannot be verified.
Are they in your name? Documents belonging to someone else cannot be counted toward your income.
4. If You Connected Your Bank
Check that the account you connected is the one your income is actually paid into, and that you connected every account you use. See Self-Employed Income if you run a business, or Gig Income if you work through apps and platforms.
5. Ask Us to Review It
If you have checked the above and the figure still looks wrong, contact us and we will review your file.
To help us get to an answer quickly, please include:
Your full name and the property you applied to
What you expected your monthly income to be
Which documents you sent, and what they should show
Contact us via chat, or email applicant.support@twodots.net.
If Your Application Has Already Been Decided
If a decision has already been made and you believe it was based on incorrect information, you can request a formal review. See I want to dispute the status of my application.
