Introduction

Customers love to see visual content that showcases products in real-life situations. To generate more of this engaging content, you can incentivize your customers to share their experience by rewarding them with discounts on their next purchase.

Adding a Discount

Follow the steps below to add a discount to your popup.

One-time discount

Tydal app will create a discount in your Shopify admin every time a customer submits a photo review (e.g. REV-xxxxxxxxxxxx).

  1. Click Settings in the sidebar menu

  2. Click Discounts

  3. Select Creates a unique one-time discount code for each review

  4. Select your discount type:

    1. Percentage - A percentage of the order total (e.g. 10% off).

    2. Fixed amount - A fixed amount deducted from the total (e.g. $5.00 off)

  5. Enter the discount value in Amount.

  6. Optional: Set the discount expiry (e.g. Never, 30 days, 60 days, 91 days, 182 days, or 365 days)

  7. Click Save.

Updating the Popup

If you offer a discount, you may want to edit the text of the popup to reflect this. By default, there are two places on the popup that mention the discount when one is offered:

  • The Upload Media stage

  • The Success stage (after the review has been submitted).

If you remove your discount offer, these mentions of a discount will also be removed.

Upload Media text

By default, the subtext on this section will provide the value of the discount the customer receives if they leave a photo review. To edit this text:

  1. Click Onsite in the sidebar menu

  2. Under Write a Review Popup, click Upload Media

  3. In the Upload Buttons section, edit the Sub Text. Use the variable {{discount_amount}} to replace it with the discount data provided in your discount settings

  4. Click Save.

Success Page text

This is the final thank you section of the popup that the customer sees when they successfully submit a review.

To edit this text:

  1. Click Onsite in the sidebar menu

  2. Under Write a Review Popup, click Success Page

  3. Edit the texts you consider necessary. In the Use discount section, make sure you include the variable {{discount_amount}} to replace it with the discount data provided in your discount settings

  4. Click Save. The discount code will be displayed after the texts, and the result in your store would be something like this:
