How to Join a Feed (Community)

Some feeds you're added to automatically. Others you can explore and join based on their visibility settings.

🧼 TL;DR:

  • Global Feeds = You’re added automatically

  • To find more, scroll to the Suggested Feeds tile on the main feed

  • Join instantly, request access, or wait for an invite based on visibility


Types of Feeds in Uniteam

🌍 Global Feeds

  • You’re automatically added based on your role, region, or team

  • Commonly used for company-wide, location-based, or compliance updates

  • These are required—you cannot leave them

🧩 Optional Feeds / Communities

  • You can join or request access manually

  • Used for departments, initiatives, or interest-based topics

  • Once you join, you’ll stay in the feed unless removed by an admin


How to Discover & Join Other Feeds

  1. Go to your Main Feed

  2. Scroll to find the Suggested Feeds/Communities tile

  3. Use the search bar inside that tile to browse available feeds

  4. Click into a feed to view more details

  5. Depending on the visibility setting, you’ll either:

    • Join instantly (Public)

    • 🙋‍♀️ Request to join (Private)

    • 🚫 Wait for an invite (Closed)


Feed Visibility Types

🔓 Public

  • Join instantly

  • Appears in search

  • Ideal for open communication or shared topics

🛑 Private

  • Appears in search

  • Requires a join request and approval

  • Used for teams or groups with focused access

🔒 Closed

  • Not visible in search

  • Invite only

  • Best for sensitive topics, leadership, or restricted groups


💡 Pro Tip:

Use the Suggested Feeds tile to explore what’s relevant to your role or region. Don’t see something? Ask your admin if access is needed.
