How to View Channel Options and Overrides

Channel options and Overrides allow additional fine-tuning of how your Shopify listing is priced and tagged within Shopify and provide control over the start time and listing duration after the initial listing details are completed.

💡Operational Tip: In most cases, your Listing Strategies, Default Shopify Admin Settings, and Builder Templates will automatically fill out these details, but they can be overridden at the point of listing.

  • Scroll to the bottom of the listing page when creating or editing a listing to see the channel options tab

  • By default, the listing page shows the Channel Options. Click “Overrides” to move to that tab

Channel Options

Channel Options are used to control specific fields in your Shopify store and can be used to override settings within a listing strategy

  1. Price: The price set on the product. If the item is on a listing strategy, the pricing used in the listing strategy will override any default settings from the listing strategy or Lister Shopify admin settings. This is a required field

  2. Compare at Price: This price field can indicate a discounted price for a product and is a great way to entice customers to purchase a product quickly

Example: Setting a price and compare at price

Shopify storefront will show a discounted price. The style of how this is shown is based on the theme used on your store

  3. Quantity: Shopify allows multiple quantities of a product. Setting this field to a value greater than 1 will allow this product to be purchased multiple times before it is delisted by Lister

  4. Shopify Tags: Shopify tags can help with product organization in the Shopify Admin portal and can be used for Automated Collections in Shopify. Click here for more details

  5. Location: Products require a location to be set for inventory tracking on Shopify. This is where the product currently is located and is based on the Locations set up in Shopify. All stores have at least one Shopify Location. This is a required field

  6. Duration: This will indicate how long the Listing should remain on Shopify before lister Delists it from Shopify if it was unsold. This listing duration can also be modified in Listing Strategies when using Shopify

  7. Product Type: This field is the Shopify equivalent to Product Categories in Lister and can be used the same way. This field is extremely helpful for creating Automated collections. Click here for more details

  8. Custom Collections: Custom collections, also called Manual Collections, are Shopify collections that are manually managed by the user. You will be able to specify which manual collection a product should be included in by adding the collection name here. This dropdown will pull all manual collections that exist in your Shopify store. Click here to learn more about Shopify Collections

  9. Template suffix: This option allows a product to use a specific Shopify Template when shown on the storefront. These templates can be used to remove the checkout button for specific products or show a different style for your store when viewing a specific product

These templates are associated with the Theme on your Shopify Store. More information can be found here

Overrides

Overrides are fields that will change the tile or description that are automatically filled out while listing a product. Clicking on the padlock icon to the right of each field allows manual adjustments to the title or description.

  1. Title: This will overwrite the tile created during the initial listing process if it needs additional changes

  2. Description: This will overwrite the Lister product description. Similar to the Title override, it will allow the Shopify listing to contain a different description than the description given to the product in Lister
