Overview

The settings we explore in this article control the integration between eBay and Lister. These settings control what Lister sets as a start price, listing type, handling time, and duration if these are not controlled by a Listing Strategy, along with the option to set a default end time for auctions.

Edit Seller Profiles

Seller profiles allow you to set business policies for payments, refunds, and shipping within eBay. While you can have as many seller profiles as you’d like, Lister requires you to have at least one payment, one shipping, and one return policy.

If you make a change to your seller profiles in eBay, you should resync them with Lister by following these steps:

  1. Click “Sync profiles”

  2. Click “Save”

Click "Synch Profiles" from the Edit Seller Profile page to import updated profile info

Account Label

By default, this will be the name of your eBay account and is used to help distinguish between accounts in various parts of Lister. We recommend leaving this as the name of your eBay account.

The Account Label should typically be kept the same as your eBay store name

Listing Type

Select one of the following as the default listing type for all eBay listings (if not controlled by a Listing Strategy)

  • Fixed price - will default to Buy It Now listings

  • Auction - will default to auction listings

  • None - no default is selected, Lister will prompt the poster to make the determination at the point of listing (unless a Listing Strategy is used)

Listing Duration

This setting controls the default number of days an auction lasts if the listing is tied to a Listing Strategy with no duration defined. This number will be overridden if entered during the listing process or if a Listing Strategy controls the auction.

Note: eBay charges an additional fee for 1-day and 3-day listings. We recommend setting your default listing duration to 7 or 10 days for maximum visibility over weekends.

Default Listing Duration options

Starting Price

This is the default auction starting price for eBay listings. This number can be overridden by Listing Strategies or during the listing process.

Handling time

Set the default number of business days buyers can expect between payment and ship date, if not controlled by a Shipping Policy Handling times can be changed during the listing process per item, if needed. Lower handling times help your eBay account qualify for the Top Rated Seller Program.

Charity ID

If you are a 501c3 charity, enter your eBay charity ID to save on eBay fees. Not an eBay charity yet? Reach out to support@uprightlabs.com for help.

Enter your eBay Charity ID if you are a direct eBay charity seller

Default End Time

This option allows you to set a time when all eBay auctions end.

  • Default end times will not incur a fee unless the auction is a classified listing

  • A classified listing will be charged $0.10, as outlined in eBay's selling fees article linked here.

  • eBay views all listings from stores/businesses as "classified" and, therefore, charges a $0.10 fee for using the default end time (scheduled end time) feature, as outlined in eBay’s article on Selling Fees

Default End Time options

List Immediately

When toggled on, immediately pushes listings to the marketplace when they are saved. If toggled off, all listings must be manually approved in the “Pending” tab of the Listing Manager. It is highly recommended to leave this toggled on by default.

To send listings to the pending tab for review on a per-user basis, assign the training mode permission to a user role as described here.

Order Import Settings

This tells Lister what orders to import. We recommend importing all orders from eBay.

  • Import All - All orders will import regardless of where the item was listed (recommended)

  • Orders originating from Lister - Only imports orders of items that were listed via Lister and excludes any listed through other means

Note: Lister uses eBay's Trading API, which means that orders might come into Lister a little before or a little after the orders appear in other services. Don't worry; the delay is minimal, and all orders will appear in Lister.

Default Description Footer

Text entered here will show at the bottom of every eBay listing. This is ideal for standard disclaimers or information about your organization.

  • Do not include the address or phone number of your organization, per eBay’s rules

  • Category-specific disclaimers, like jewelry or home electronics testing information, should be added to templates

Default Description Footer

Enable Tax Table

Checking this option will sync with tax tables controlled in eBay. If you are unsure about this option, please leave it unchecked.

Enable Tax Table

Save

After making any changes to your settings, be sure to click "Save" at the bottom of the page to confirm the updates.

Click Save after making any changes to eBay settings

Unlink eBay Account From Lister

Warning: This is a very destructive action; please proceed with caution.

Unlinking your eBay account will prevent listing to eBay until another account is linked.

It will also delete all seller profiles saved in Lister and prevent orders from importing to Lister.
