Overview
eBay has several settings and tools that can control how an item is relisted and how long a buyer has to pay. This article explains these features and how to configure them correctly to prevent duplicate sales.

eBay Settings: Preferences for Items Awaiting Payment
This settings page in eBay controls how long a buyer has to pay for an item and what eBay will do with the listing once the payment window has elapsed.
The following four settings on this page need to be adjusted so that items can safely be manually relisted or automatically relisted via listing strategies in Lister:
Automatically Cancel Unpaid Items
Payment Window
Automatically Relist Canceled Items
Buyer Exclusion List
Automatically Cancel Unpaid Items
This setting allows eBay to cancel unpaid items if a buyer has paid. It is essential for this setting to be activated so items listed in Lister can be relisted safely.
If this setting is not activated, a buyer may purchase an item after it has already been relisted and sold to another buyer, resulting in an unfulfillable double sale.
Payment Window
The second setting allows you to select how long buyers have to pay for items. After that time, items still awaiting payment are automatically canceled.
This setting must be set to less than 30 days to avoid double sales.
Due to how eBay sends item information through the API, this setting must be less than 30 days. After 30 days, eBay’s API no longer sends complete item information to Lister, meaning that Lister will relist an item after 30 days.
Automatically Relist Canceled Items
This setting allows eBay to relist items automatically once the payment deadline has passed based on the payment window setting above. As Lister will automatically relist items via Listing strategies, this setting must be toggled OFF to avoid both eBay and Lister relisting unpaid items.
Buyer Exclusion List
This setting in eBay excludes specific buyers from needing to pay within the typical awaiting payment time frame.
This list is currently not provided to Lister via the API. If a buyer is added to this list, Lister will not recognize their items have an unlimited payment window and will relist them once the payment window has passed.
98% of all eBay items sold by clients using Lister are paid for within the first five days after an auction has ended.
eBay Tools: Automatic Relist via Order Cancellation or Return
eBay will attempt to relist the item automatically when a buyer requests an order be canceled or returns an item for a buyer-remorse reason. Ensure the “Re-list item” checkbox is unchecked when completing the cancellation/refund.
If this checkbox is not unchecked, both Lister and eBay will relist the item, potentially leading to a double sale.

eBay Tools: Manage Unsold Listings Page
The Unsold Listings page in eBay’s Seller Hub provides an overview of all unsold items. This page should NOT be used to relist unsold items. Instead, Lister handles all unsold item relists via Listing Strategies.
eBay Tools: Manage Active Listings Page
The Active Listings page in eBay’s Seller Hub provides an overview of all currently active items. This page should NOT be used to end listings early. If a Lister-created item needs to be ended early, do so from the Listings Manager.
eBay Tools: Second Chance Offers
Upright Labs does not recommend using Second Chance Offers. The Second Chance Offer system creates new listings directly on eBay for each sent offer. As eBay makes these listings, Lister has no control over them, and they are not associated with the original product in Lister. This means:
Second Chance Offers will import orders without inventory locations
Imported items will not be connected to suppliers/manifests for reporting sales numbers
Unless you manually pause the listing strategy on the original Lister-controlled product, the listing strategy will continue to relist the original item, resulting in double-sales
