How Price Overrides Work

A Price Override temporarily adds a discount to Shopify listings and remains in place until you manually end the override. During the Price Override, a new tag (or tags) is added to the Listings for internal tracking and for use with Shopify Collections. Once the Price Override is manually ended, the original price is added back to the listing, and all Price Override tags are automatically removed from the listing.

How to Set Price Overrides From the Listings Manager

  1. Navigate to your Shopify Open (All) Listing Manager page

  2. Select the checkboxes next to the items you want to discount

  3. Click “Override Price” in the bulk action menu at the bottom of the page

  4. Select the discount type (fixed price or percentage) from the dropdown menu

    • Fixed Price: Discount will lower the price by the dollar amount entered

    • Percentage: Discount will lower the price by the percentage entered

  5. Select a discount amount

  6. Select a Compare at Price option from the dropdown menu

    • Use existing: The existing compare at price will be used if it was specified during the original listing process

    • Use current listing price: Override the compare at price with the current listing price of the item

    • Set new compare at price: This option will allow you to add a new compare at price

  7. Add at least one tag for the duration of the Price Override. We recommend creating and using a “Price Override” tag

  8. Click the blue “Override price for X items” button
