How it Works:
This feature is available to all Warehouse Users!
UPC will allow both letters and numbers and can be used in lieu of a part number or part ID for items.
Read on to learn how to utilize this feature!
Setup & Item Matching
Enable the “Advanced UPC Matching while Receiving” checkbox in the Admin page (Settings > Setup > Warehouse)
Without this feature enabled, when you receive inventory into the Warehouse, Kojo will only match based on Description and UOM.
With this feature enabled, when you receive material into the Warehouse, Kojo will match items based on Description, UOM and UPC. It treats all three as a unique key with priority given to UPC.
If the Description, UOM, and UPC match, Kojo will update that item’s Quantity.
If a UPC matches but UOM and Description do not, Kojo will update the item’s Quantity in Inventory.
If a UPC does not match, Kojo will create a new Inventory item.
General Stock Pricing
If a UPC is added to an item for a PO and the Inventory item has the same exact UPC code, the last paid price will be automatically saved for that item.
Please note that pricing from the Inventory Valuation feature (Inventory Valuation User Guide) will take priority over a UPC price, but you can still override the price from UPC if you would like.
We do also support Warehouse Job Costing. Please see the guide to that here: Warehouse Job Costing
When entering an item on a PO, add the UPC to that item.
Ensure the UPC matches what is on the Inventory item.
When that item is used by a Job, it will show up on the Job Costing dashboard.
When you add that item to an internal order, you will see the UPC is now saved.
Click the “Apply Pricing” button.
You can select just the line items you want to apply the Last Paid Price, or select the button at the top of the column to select all.
Click “OK”. This will assign the unit price to all the items automatically.
Viewing & Editing UPCs on Warehouse Inventory
Kojo Office & Jobsite Mobile
In Kojo Office, UPC is now visible on the Inventory list page and the Inventory Detail page.
UPC can be edited for an item by browsing to the item’s Inventory Detail page.
The UPC for each item must be unique. Two items in your inventory cannot have the same UPC.
On Kojo Jobsite Mobile, the UPC is now visible on the Inventory list screen and the item’s detail screen.
UPC cannot be edited in Kojo Jobsite Mobile...yet.
Kojo Jobsite Mobile & Web Views
Field users will see the UPC when browsing and searching for warehouse inventory.
Searching
When Field or Warehouse users search by UPC, the item that matches that code will show up in the list. To search by UPC, you should enter the UPC by itself only. Do not search by description and UPC unless your description includes the UPC in it.
