Advanced Instagram Automations

Learn how to use filters, keywords, and connection links to turn Instagram engagement into real customer relationships.

Once you have created an Instagram automation, you can add advanced configuration to make your automations more targeted and effective.

This includes:

  • Keyword triggers

  • Repeat rules

  • Connection links

  • Campaign automation


Trigger automations with keywords

Automations can be configured to run only when specific keywords are used.

You can apply filters such as:

  1. Keyword in comment - A customer comments 'catering'. The automation sends a direct message with catering information.

  2. Keyword in DM - Ask a customer to DM 'tickets' to receive a ticket link. A great secondary automation to use to direct customers through specific connection flows

This is particularly useful for running Instagram marketing campaigns.

Examples:

  • DM menu to receive your menu

  • Comment promos to receive a link to all your promotions

  • Comment or DM new to receive a introductory offer

  • Comment tickets to receive a ticket purchase link to your next event


Control how often automations run

You can configure rules to prevent automations from running too frequently for the same customer.

Options include:

  • Run once per customer

  • Run once every set number of days

  • Limit the maximum number of times it can run

Example configuration:

  • Run once every 7 days

  • Maximum 2 times per customer

This helps prevent customers from receiving repeated automated responses.


Linking Instagram users to customer profiles

Instagram automations become most powerful when they help convert social engagement into connected customers.

You can include a Brand Connection Link or Dynamic Connection Page (DCP) link in your automation message.

When customers click the link and share their details:

  • myne creates a customer profile

  • The Instagram interaction is linked to that profile

  • Future behaviour can be tracked

Each connection link automatically includes an Instagram identifier, allowing myne to match the Instagram user to the correct profile.

Once connected, you can:

  • Track visits and spend

  • Send future automated messages

  • Include them in campaigns and customer segments


Example campaign ideas

Instagram automations are often used for campaign engagement.

Here are a few examples.

  1. Catering enquiries - Customers comment catering on a post and automatically receive catering information.

  2. Ticket sales - Customers comment tickets and receive a direct ticket purchase link.

  3. Promotions - Customers comment promos to receive your Dynamic Connection Page with promotions the customer can claim by sharing details

  4. Customer connection campaigns - Customers who message your business receive a welcome message and a connection link to join your customer program.
