Step 1: Create a Campaign in Instantly
Go to Instantly and create a new campaign — give it a name.
You don't need to set up any email steps beforehand. Leave the campaign empty for now.
Step 2: Export from Twain
In Twain, open a campaign where the copy is finalized.
Click Export Leads, then click More, then select Instantly.
If this is your first time connecting: you'll be prompted to enter your Instantly API key. Have it ready.
If you've already connected before, you'll go straight to campaign selection.
Step 3: Select Your Campaign and Match Steps
Select the Instantly campaign you just created.
Match each Twain step to the corresponding custom variable name in Instantly.
Click Export Leads. This may take a moment.
Step 4: Build the Campaign in Instantly
Open your campaign in Instantly. You'll see your steps (Step 1, Step 2, Step 3) and subject line, with leads assigned.
For each step, click into it, click Variables, and select the matching Twain variable.
Do the same for the subject line — click it, click Variables, and select subject.
Add your account signature as an additional variable. You can find all available variables in the variables panel.
Step 5: Preview and Launch
Click Preview and select a lead to see exactly how the messages will appear.
Repeat this for each step to confirm personalization is correct.
Once everything looks good, save and launch your campaign.
💡 Tips
Your API key only needs to be entered once — Twain saves it for future exports.
Make sure the campaign already exists in Instantly before exporting from Twain.
Double-check variable mappings in the preview before launching.
