Importing Apollo leads
You can bring an Apollo list into Twain once, or let Twain keep pulling new contacts from it automatically.
One-off import
Create a new campaign (or open an existing one and click Add leads) and choose Apollo – Import by list as the lead source.
Click Continue with Apollo and sign in to authorize the connection.
Search for and select the Apollo list you want to import.
Map the Apollo fields to Twain's variables and continue with the campaign setup.
Use the … menu to refresh your lists or disconnect Apollo if needed.
Automatic import with an automation
An automation keeps watching your Apollo list, pulls in new contacts as they're added, runs research and sequence generation, and exports the result, without manual steps. There are two ways to set it up:
While adding leads: After selecting your Apollo list in the steps above, turn on Auto-add new leads and choose the research depth. Once the first import finishes, the automation keeps running. Contacts added to the list during that first import are picked up too.
From the campaign: In the Automation row under Agent, click Setup. In the Import step, choose Apollo, select the list (shown as Monitor new leads from list) and pick the research depth. Turn on Enroll existing leads if you also want the contacts already in the list; otherwise only contacts added from now on are picked up. Then continue with the Export and Notifications steps.
Research depth is charged per lead: 1 credit on Base, 2 on High, 8 plus 2 per sequence step on Ultra. For more on automations, see How Twain Automations Work.
Exporting processed leads to Apollo
Once Twain has researched and written sequences for your leads, you can push them to Apollo in two ways:
From the campaign: Click Export in the top right of the campaign and select Apollo (under More if it isn't listed directly). Map the sequence steps and subject lines to Apollo contact fields and export. You can also map the research to its own fields: Signals, Absent signals and Warnings, plus Thesis and Strategy on High and Ultra. This works for any campaign, whether the leads came from Apollo or not.
From an automation: In the automation's Export step, select Apollo (Push leads) and map the fields. Leads are pushed to Apollo automatically after each run. If a contact already exists in Apollo, Twain updates it instead of creating a duplicate.
In both cases you can turn on Skip leads with warnings so flagged leads never reach Apollo. Each lead needs an email address or a LinkedIn URL to export.
Manual export via CSV (fallback)
If you'd rather not connect Apollo directly, you can run the flow manually:
Build your sequence in Twain and generate messages for all leads.
Click Export and choose Download CSV. Each step gets its own column, named by channel (e.g.
Twain email 1,Twain email 1 subject line,Twain email 2).In Apollo, go to Contacts and upload the CSV.
During import, map the basic lead details (name, email, etc.) and import the generated messages and subject lines as custom fields. Set these fields as multi-line text so the full emails display correctly.
Create a sequence in Apollo and insert the custom fields into each step.
Add your signature. Twain writes the message and subject line, but not your signature.
Preview the emails to confirm the right message appears for each contact, then launch.
