How to Use Chat to Message Athletes

We'll cover how to use the V1 COACH chat feature to communicate with your athletes.

Solutions Overview

  1. Click on the chat icon from the menu

  2. Tap the pencil icon on the lower right-hand corner to search for an athlete

  3. Select an athlete to open the chat window

  4. Type your message and tap Send

Tactical Rundown

Step 1

Go to Messages by clicking the chat icon in the menu. Then, click the pencil icon in the bottom right corner and use the magnifying glass to search for the athlete you want to message.

If the athlete is not on the list, create a profile for them in the 'Athletes' section. For detailed instructions, click here.

Step 2

Select the athlete's name to open the chat window. Type your message and tap Send.

Athletes cannot respond directly to new videos or lesson notifications. To enable messaging, you'll need to initiate the conversation by sending them a message first.

Step 3

When you send a message, your athletes will be notified in their V1 GOLF or V1 BASEBALL app. They can click the chat button from the menu to reply.

Read Receipts

To confirm that your athlete has read your message using chat, look for the two check marks at the bottom of the message, next to the time stamp. If the checks are white, the message has not been read. If the checks are blue, your athlete has seen that message.

Some Ideas For Using Chat

  1. Request videos from athletes.

  2. Discuss scheduling, appointments, and lesson rates.

  3. Add extra comments or instructions to the lesson or videos you sent.

  4. Share important links.

  5. Answer any follow-up questions from athletes.

  6. Send reminders about upcoming lessons.

  7. Check-in with an athlete you haven't seen in a while.

  8. Stay engaged with an athlete while they are traveling or competing.
