🖥️ How to Unassign a Terminal in Adyen
Applies to both Live and Test environments in the Adyen Customer Area.
Step 1
Log In to the Adyen Customer Area
Sign in to your Adyen Customer Area account.
Step 2
Confirm You Are in the Correct Merchant Account
In the upper left corner, verify that the merchant account displayed shows the correct account name alongside ValPayLLC. This ensures you are working in the right environment before making any changes.
Step 3
Navigate to Payment Devices
Using the left navigation panel, go to:
📍 In-Person Payments → Payment Devices
Step 4
Locate the Terminal
Use the search or filter options to locate the terminal by its device model and serial number.
Step 5
Select Assign / Reassign — 3 Methods Available
A.
Checkbox Method
Select the checkbox to the left of the terminal. A pop-up bar will appear at the bottom of the screen — click Assign.

Three-Dot Menu Method
Click the three dots (⋯) on the far right of the terminal's row and select Assign.

Terminal Settings Method
Click on the terminal to open its settings page. At the top, select More Options and choose Reassign.
Step 6
Confirm and Proceed
A confirmation prompt will appear. Click Got it! to continue. A new dialog titled Reassign Terminals will open with two options:
Back to Inventory — Returns the device to your inventory (unassigned).
Assign to Another Store — Moves the terminal to a different store location.
Step 7
Unassign to Inventory
To unassign the terminal, select Back to Inventory and click Next.
✅ Done! Terminal Successfully Unassigned
You will receive a confirmation message confirming the terminal has been returned to inventory.
This process applies to both Live and Test environments in the Adyen Customer Area.
