Archiving a client or asset

How to archive and restore clients and assets, and what happens to linked projects, events, and contacts.

Archiving a client

Archiving removes a client or asset from your active lists without deleting it. Archived clients and assets can be restored later if needed.

  1. Open the client from the Clients page.

  2. Click the three-dot menu in the drawer header.

  3. Select Archive.

  4. Confirm the action.

The client moves to the Archived tab on the Clients page. All associated projects, events, and assets remain intact, but the client no longer appears in dropdowns when creating new projects, events, or opportunities.

Archiving an asset

  1. Open the client and go to the Assets tab.

  2. Hover over the asset row and click the archive icon, or open the asset drawer and use the three-dot menu.

  3. Confirm the action.

The asset moves to the Archived view on the Assets tab. Events that were linked to the asset keep their historical data.

Restoring an archived client or asset

To restore an archived client, switch to the Archived tab on the Clients page, open the client, and select Restore from the three-dot menu. The same applies for assets on the Assets tab.

Deleting vs archiving

Archiving is reversible. Deleting is permanent and cannot be undone. If you are not sure whether you will need the client or asset again, archive it instead of deleting.

Deleting a client removes it and everything linked to it. Deleting an asset removes it from the client and clears it from events. Consider archiving first.

FAQ

Can I archive a client that has active projects or events?

Yes. Archiving the client does not close or cancel active projects or events. They remain accessible, but the client no longer appears in active lists or creation dropdowns.

Can I archive an address that is linked to an active asset?

No. If an address is linked to one or more active fixed assets, it cannot be archived. Re-link the assets to a different address first, then archive the address.
