Merging duplicate addresses

How to identify and merge duplicate address records in Vantage.

Following the migration of assets into the Address book, locations are no longer tied to individual clients. This gives you more flexibility, but you may occasionally end up with duplicate address records created from different sources.

The Data merging page helps you combine duplicate addresses into a single record while keeping all linked data intact.

How duplicates are found

Vantage automatically identifies duplicate addresses based on matching coordinates (latitude and longitude).

When addresses are merged, one address is kept as the primary record, and all linked events, projects, opportunities, assets, and clients are moved to it. Duplicate records are deleted and removed from your active address list.

Merging addresses

  1. Select the address you want to keep by choosing it in the Primary column.

  2. Review the merge preview below the table.

  3. Edit the address name if required. All other address information will be taken from the selected primary record.

  4. Click Merge.

If you do not want to include a particular record in the merge, turn off the Keep toggle for that address.

Once the merge is complete, all linked records are automatically transferred to the primary address and the duplicate records are archived.

The next duplicate group will then be displayed for review.

FAQ

What addresses appear on the Data Merging page?

Only active addresses with matching GPS coordinates appear on the page. Addresses without latitude and longitude, and archived addresses, are not included.

Can I merge addresses that belong to different clients?

Yes. Because addresses are now shared across your workspace, duplicate detection works across all clients and address records in your company database.

What happens to my events, projects, assets, and opportunities after an address merge?

All linked items are automatically moved to the primary address during the merge. Nothing needs to be reconnected manually.
