An address in Vantage is a reusable location record. Addresses can be linked to clients, opportunities, projects, events, and fixed assets to show where work takes place.
What an address holds
Each address has a name, address ID, full location (street, city, state/county, country, zip/post code), phone number, and access instructions. The address name is how it appears in dropdowns across your workspace.
Where addresses appear
You can link an address to:
Clients: one address per client. It carries over to new opportunities, projects, and events for that client.
Opportunities: shows where the potential deal is located. Auto-fills from the client's address when you select a client.
Projects: shows the project location. Auto-fills from the client's address, or copies from the opportunity when converting a won deal.
Events: shows where the work takes place. Auto-fills from the project address, then the client address, or from a linked fixed asset.
Fixed assets: every fixed asset requires a linked address. The asset's address carries over to new events at that asset.
How addresses differ from assets
An address is a location. An asset belongs to the client you are doing your job for – , like a store, a billboard, or a vehicle. Fixed assets link to an address for their location details.
You can also use an address on its own, without an asset. This is useful for trade shows, pop-up locations, or one-off jobs at a site you do not need to track long-term.
The same address can be shared across different clients. For example, a shopping mall address could be linked to assets for multiple client brands that have stores in the same location.
FAQ
Do I need the Addresses feature to use assets?
Do I need the Addresses feature to use assets?
Fixed assets require a linked address, so the Addresses feature needs to be enabled if your workspace uses fixed assets. Moving assets like vehicles do not require an address.
Can I use an address without linking it to an asset?
Can I use an address without linking it to an asset?
Yes. You can link an address directly to a client, opportunity, project, or event without creating an asset. This is useful for one-off locations or temporary sites.
