Written by The Oblist

Whether you import your products from your Shopify store, Woocommerce platform, or curate them manually, there exist a set of refined guidelines to adhere to when submitting a product for approval on The Oblist. By embracing these principles, you can craft a product listing that effortlessly captivates visitors and elegantly transforms them into discerning buyers.

The perfect product title & product description

  1. Be Concise and Clear:

    • Keep the title short and to the point, ideally around 5-10 words.

    • Clearly communicate what the product is and its main function.

  2. Highlight the Main Benefit:

    • Focus on the primary benefit or value that the product offers to customers.

    • Answer the question: "Why should the customer care about this product?"

  3. Use Evocative Language:

    • Employ descriptive and engaging language that captures the essence of the product.

    • Consider using words that evoke emotions or create intrigue.

  4. Include Key Feature:

    • If the product has a standout feature or innovation, include it in the title.

    • This can help set the product apart from similar items.

  5. Emphasize Unique Selling Points:

    • Incorporate any unique selling points that make the product special or different.

    • Highlight what makes this product stand out in the market.

  6. Speak to the Target Audience:

    • Craft the title in a way that resonates with your target audience's preferences and language.

  7. Address a Problem or Desire:

    • Consider framing the product title around how it addresses a specific problem or fulfills a desire.

  8. Be Descriptive, Not Jargon-y:

    • Utilize descriptive language that customers can effortlessly comprehend, while refraining from technical jargon.

  9. Visualize the End Result:

    • Create a mental image for the customer of how their life could be improved with the product.

  10. Match the Product Page Content:

    • Ensure that the title aligns with the product description, images, and other content on the page.

  11. Consider Brand Identity:

    • Reflect your brand's tone and personality in the title, while maintaining clarity.

  12. Format for Readability:

    • Use proper capitalization and punctuation for easy readability.

    • Consider using title case (capitalizing the first letter of each major word).

The Perfect Product Images/Video

Having high-quality images and videos is crucial for any e-commerce product page. Visuals are often the first thing that customers notice when browsing a website, and they play a significant role in shaping their perception of the product.

Poor quality images or videos can make a product appear unprofessional, unappealing, or even suspicious. On the other hand, high-resolution images that showcase the product from different angles can help customers get a better sense of its features, size, and overall appearance. Videos that demonstrate the product in use or highlight its benefits can also be highly effective in engaging customers and building trust.

In addition to their aesthetic value, images and videos can also help customers make informed decisions about the product. Detailed photos that show the product up close and from different angles can give customers a better sense of its quality and durability.

Videos that demonstrate the product in action can also help customers understand how it works and how it can benefit them. By providing customers with a clear and accurate representation of the product, e-commerce businesses can increase customer satisfaction and reduce the likelihood of returns or negative reviews.

  • Include multiple high-resolution images that showcase the product from different angles.

  • Consider adding videos that demonstrate the product in use or highlight its features.
