Quick answer
What happens after you save depends on both the product's current status and the fields you changed:
Operational changes can sync to an approved live piece without a new curation review.
Critical presentation changes require review. The previously approved version stays available while the new version is reviewed.
A new Draft or Pending product is not live yet. It must be approved and synchronized first.
Understand the status shown in Products
Status | What it means | What you can do |
Draft | Work in progress; not in the review queue and not live. | Save as draft or complete the required fields and Send for review. |
Pending | Submitted and currently in the curation queue. A new product is not live yet. | You can still save changes; they are included in the current review. |
Approved | The piece passed curation and is in the live publication pipeline. | Operational edits can sync without a new review. Critical edits are submitted for review. |
Need Review | The team requested changes, or a previously approved piece has new critical changes waiting for review. | Read the feedback or modified-field labels. Correct anything requested and use Send for review when the dashboard asks you to. |
Rejected | The piece was not accepted as submitted. | You can resubmit only when the dashboard provides that option. A final rejection cannot be resubmitted from the form. |
Sold Out is an availability badge, not a curation status.
Changes that require review on an Approved product
The dashboard opens Submit changes for review? when you change one or more of these fields:
product title;
description;
product gallery or main image;
video;
product type/category;
condition;
base/reference price while Auto-sync prices from Shopify is active.
After submission, the product can show Need Review. The old approved version remains available to buyers; the new critical content is published only after approval and synchronization. You do not need to save the same change repeatedly.
Changes that do not require a new review by themselves
On an Approved product, these are operational updates:
stock quantity, stock mode and Allow purchase when out of stock;
variants and options, including per-option price, quantity and image;
market price and availability in Advanced pricing by market;
SKU and search keywords;
weight, dimensions and packed dimensions;
country of origin, delivery time and return setting;
materials, colours, styles, technical notices and lighting specifications;
base/reference price when Shopify price auto-sync has been explicitly turned off.
These updates are queued for synchronization. They do not need curation when saved alone, but they may take a short technical sync rather than appearing on the public page at the exact same moment.
If the same save also contains a critical change, the critical part waits for review while eligible operational data can still synchronize.
Shopify-linked products: know which price is the source
For a product connected to your Shopify store, the product editor can show Auto-sync prices from Shopify under Price & Inventory.
Auto-sync on: your Shopify store remains the source for base and variant prices. Make price changes there. A base-price edit made directly on Oblist is treated as a critical change and may later be replaced by the next Shopify update.
Auto-sync off: Shopify price changes are ignored for that product. You manage the Oblist base price, promotions and market prices manually from the Vendor Dashboard.
Changing market prices or market availability is operational, but remember to save twice: first Save inside the Advanced pricing modal, then Save and continue on the full product page.
Why the public page can still show the old value
If the dashboard shows Need Review after a critical edit, this is expected: buyers continue to see the last approved version until the new version is approved. For example, the old title or gallery can remain visible while the replacement waits for review.
The regular Products page shows the product status, a Shopify badge for linked products and a Shopify Synced filter. It does not show the internal per-product publication queue.
For a Shopify-linked product, open Products → Shopify Sync Hub:
Synced shows the Oblist status, whether the product has been created on The Oblist and its Last sync time;
Activity shows synchronization results such as Success, Error or Partial;
a connection problem displays a dedicated error and reconnect action.
If an Approved product is missing, unavailable or Sold Out
Check these points before opening a support request:
Market availability is configured on the product itself—not in general Vendor Dashboard settings. Open Products → Edit the piece → Price & Inventory → Advanced pricing by market. If no market-pricing rows have ever been saved, markets default to active; do not assume the market is disabled.
Status: confirm that the piece is Approved. A new Draft or Pending piece is not live.
Stock: a fixed-stock piece at quantity 0 is Sold Out unless Allow purchase when out of stock is enabled. A genuine made-to-order piece is not treated as Sold Out simply because its quantity is 0.
Variants: when variant quantity management is enabled, availability comes from the option quantities rather than the product-level quantity.
Market availability: on that product’s Edit page, open Price & Inventory → Advanced pricing by market and confirm that the buyer’s market is enabled. This is a per-product control, not a general dashboard setting.
Holiday Mode:Pause all sales drafts approved products on Shopify until the pause ends; Keep selling does not hide them.
Shopify source: for a linked product, confirm that the expected price or stock was changed in the active source.
Shopify Sync Hub: for a linked product, check Last sync under Synced and the latest result under Activity. Error, Partial or a connection warning needs investigation.
Two protections you may see while editing
Reserved piece: if lowering stock would make a client reservation unavailable, the dashboard asks for a reason and informs The Oblist team so the client can be contacted.
Existing order awaiting shipment: you cannot extend that product's delivery time because it would move the date already promised to the buyer. You can shorten it. Report a delay from the relevant order conversation instead.
When to use Vendor Dashboard chat
Open the chat inside your Vendor Dashboard when:
Shopify Sync Hub shows Error, Partial, an expired connection or an unresolved mapping problem;
the product is Approved and the public page still differs after you have checked status, stock, market, holiday mode and the correct Shopify source;
the feedback or final rejection is unclear;
you cannot complete the action because the dashboard returns an error.
Include:
product name and Edit URL;
public product URL, if one exists;
dashboard status and, for a Shopify-linked product, the Last sync time and latest Activity result;
affected market and variant;
what you expected, what you see, and a screenshot.
There is no fixed public review SLA. Follow the status displayed in Products; the team can check a genuinely blocked case once you provide the details above.
