The product category and Vintage condition stored on The Oblist determine the applied rate. If a product appears in an unexpected group, continue in the Vendor Dashboard chat with the product link before promising a discount.

How the discount is activated

The discount applies only while the seller is enrolled in the Trade Program. When participation is off, the product Trade discount is set to 0 even if its category normally has a rate.

Open Account → Trade Program in the Vendor Dashboard to review your participation setting. Product Trade fields are refreshed through the normal product sync.

How product pricing works

For an eligible Trade purchase:

  1. The category discount is applied to the eligible product selling price.

  2. The Oblist commission is calculated using the seller's applicable commission rate on the discounted product amount.

  3. Shipping, duties, taxes, refunds and order-specific adjustments are handled separately.

Example for a €1,000 furniture piece:

  • Product price: €1,000

  • Furniture Trade discount at 15%: €150

  • Discounted product amount: €850

  • The seller's applicable commission and VAT are then calculated on the eligible discounted amount.

Do not use a generic 35% commission example as a promise: commission rates can vary by seller, product programme and transaction.

Shipping on Trade orders

Trade/B2B orders do not receive the consumer complimentary-delivery policy.

  • When checkout has a reliable carrier or grid price, the professional buyer pays the applicable shipping amount there.

  • When no firm price is available, the order follows the custom shipping quote process.

  • Shipping is not reduced by the product Trade percentage and is not part of the product discount calculation.

For heavy pieces, any market-pricing contribution agreed between the seller and The Oblist remains a separate commercial strategy; it is not the standard Trade discount.

Important limitations

  • A Trade discount is not a coupon that stacks automatically with every promotion or negotiated arrangement.

  • Do not promise that a previously negotiated discount will be added on top without written confirmation for that order.

  • Product and market prices must remain accurate before the Trade discount is applied.

  • The exact checkout, order and payment breakdown is the source of truth for a specific transaction.
