Connect your payout account with Stripe

How Stripe Connect differs from the platform subscription, where to connect it in Payments, what each payout-account status means, and when a country needs an alternative payout route.

Stripe is used for two different vendor functions on The Oblist:

  1. Platform subscription: pays for access to the Vendor Dashboard.

  2. Stripe Connect payout account: receives eligible earnings from sales.

This guide covers Stripe Connect payouts. It does not activate or change your platform subscription.

Is Stripe Connect required before a product goes live?

No. The current platform does not block Curation/publication because Stripe Connect is missing. However, an automatic payout cannot be transferred to an incomplete payout account, so complete this before your first sale whenever Stripe Connect is available in your country.

Where to connect it

  1. Sign in at pro.oblist.com.

  2. Open Payments.

  3. Find the Stripe account status card.

  4. Select Connect Stripe account, Continue Stripe onboarding or Resolve on Stripe, depending on the status shown.

  5. Complete the hosted Stripe flow and return to the dashboard.

Do not look for a separate Payment Settings → Payout using Stripe menu; the current control is the status card at the top of Payments.

Understand the displayed status

  • Not connected: no Stripe Connect payout account is linked yet.

  • Verification required: an account exists but Stripe still requests information.

  • Payouts disabled: Stripe restricted the payout account; use the displayed action/reason.

  • Verified: the account is ready to receive eligible payouts.

A Verified payout account does not mean every order is immediately payable. Each payout must still reach Ready for payout, and then be processed. See the payout eligibility guide for delivery and hold rules.

Country restrictions and alternative payout methods

Stripe Connect availability depends on the seller's country and The Oblist's platform account. If the dashboard says standard Stripe Connect is unavailable for your country, do not create or link an unrelated account to bypass it. The Oblist can use the applicable alternative/manual payout route for that seller.

If Stripe asks for more information

Complete the requirements shown directly by Stripe. The dashboard can display currently due or past-due fields, but The Oblist cannot override Stripe's KYC decision.

Continue in Vendor Dashboard chat when:

  • the dashboard and Stripe show different statuses after you completed the hosted flow;

  • the callback returns to The Oblist but the status does not refresh;

  • the country restriction requires an alternative payout method;

  • Stripe is Verified but an eligible payout cannot be processed.

Include a screenshot of the status and its reason, but never send identity documents, passwords, one-time codes or full bank details in chat.
