A “discount” is simply a lower selling price (or a lower price in a specific market) that you set on the product—and the platform treats significant price changes on live listings like any other critical pricing update.
1. Where you work
Sign in at https://pro.oblist.com.
Open Products, then open the product (Edit).
Use the Price & Inventory section (same area as Base Price (all markets)* / Reference Price*, variants, and Advanced pricing by market).
2. How to offer a lower price (“discount”)
Option A — Change the public price (most common)
Set a new, lower base price (or reference price when variants drive display).
If you use Advanced pricing by market, you can lower the amount for one region without changing every market.
If you use variant-level prices, adjust the option prices that should be reduced.
What buyers see is the updated price once the catalogue has synced—there is no extra “strikethrough compare-at” workflow exposed in this dashboard from the product form.
Option B — You sell from Shopify
If automatic price sync is on, a sale price coming from your Shopify catalog can flow through as a price update on Oblist (subject to sync rules and delays).
If you turn on manual pricing (
disablePriceSync), the product editor explicitly warns that Shopify price changes are ignored and that promotions/discounts must be applied manually on Oblist—so you would lower the price in the Oblist editor, not only in Shopify.
3. Curation and live products
New or draft listings: follow the usual Send for review flow after you change price.
Already approved listings: changing the price is treated as a critical change in the current rules (unless your product is on manual price control / automatic price sync disabled—in that case price edits may not follow the same “re-review” path). When a price change does require review, the product can move to a changes requested-type status until the team approves again.
So: a “discount” is not a silent switch—you should plan for possible review when you cut price on live SKUs.
4. Things that are not in the form today
Based on the current product UI:
No dedicated fields for “percentage off”, “fixed amount off”, or “promotion start/end dates” on the Oblist vendor product page.
No built-in Oblist coupon layer you edit per SKU from this screen (campaigns, if any, are handled elsewhere by the platform).
If you need time-limited campaigns at scale, discuss options with vendors@oblist.com.
5. B2B (trade) pricing
B2B customer pricing (trade discounts) follows separate catalogue rules (see your B2B help articles). It is not the same control as lowering the public retail price on the standard product form.
6. Good practices
Match the price you can honour—avoid listing a promo price you cannot ship at.
After a change, check the live product page once sync has run.
If you rely on free-shipping thresholds, remember that lowering the basket total can affect whether the buyer still qualifies—validate in checkout if unsure.
Keep market prices coherent if you sell in several regions.
