When linked products do not update or show a “complete your listing” warning

If you connect a linked catalogue so stock stays aligned with your external Shopify store, most updates run in the background. This article covers what vendors see on https://pro.oblist.com and how to fix common issues

Written by The Oblist

1. “Complete info to activate sync” on the Products grid

On Products, a linked item may show a Shopify badge and this line:

Complete info to activate sync

In the current dashboard, that message appears when the product is still in DRAFT while already linked to your external catalogue. Inventory sync is tied to live listing workflow: until the product is no longer an incomplete draft (submitted and processed through the normal review path), the platform keeps this reminder.

What to do

  1. Open the product (Edit).

  2. Fill every required field (images, copy, pricing, shipping-related fields, etc.—whatever the form marks as mandatory).

  3. Save and submit for review as you would for any new listing.

  4. After the product leaves DRAFT and is approved for sale, sync behaviour can proceed according to your connection settings.

2. Managing the connection and imports

From Products, use the button that opens the linked catalogue area (the screen where you connect the store, import products, map listings, and see Recent Activity).

There you can:

  • Connect / reconnect the store.

  • Choose inventory location when the store has several (saving can trigger a stock resync for mapped products).

  • Import new lines or link existing Oblist products to external SKUs.

  • Read Recent Activity (import, inventory update, product update) with success / failed badges and short details—useful when a change did not appear on The Oblist.

If a row says the product cannot be synced, the reason shown on screen (e.g. blocking rule or stock state) is the starting point; fix the underlying product or mapping, then retry.

3. Typical problems and checks

Symptom

Check

Orange “complete…” line on Products

Product still DRAFT → complete listing and pass review.

Stock wrong after a sale elsewhere

Correct inventory location selected; wait for the next automatic sync cycle; check Recent Activity for failed updates.

Product never appears in import list

May already be imported or filtered; use search / tabs on the linked-catalogue page.

Repeated failures in activity

Note the timestamp and message → vendors@oblist.com with product name and screenshot.

4. Need help?

vendors@oblist.com — include product title (or ID), whether you see DRAFT / PENDING / APPROVED, and a screenshot of Recent Activity if the issue is sync errors rather than draft state.
