Safety & Security Concerns

Your safety and peace of mind are important to us. If you have a safety or security concern during your stay, let your host or Vidle Housing know as soon as possible so the situation can be reviewed.

If you're experiencing an emergency or are in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency services first.

Common Safety Concerns

Examples may include:

  • Unauthorized individuals entering or lingering near the property

  • A host or another guest making you feel uncomfortable

  • Doors, windows, or locks that don't secure properly

  • Broken exterior lighting or other security concerns

  • Evidence of pests, including suspected bed bugs

  • Any situation that makes you feel unsafe while staying at the property

Step 1: Contact Your Host

If it's safe to do so, notify your host as soon as possible. Many safety concerns can be resolved quickly, such as repairing a broken lock, addressing building access issues, or responding to maintenance concerns.

You can message your host through Dashboard > My Trips.

Step 2: Contact Vidle Housing

If you're unable to reach your host, the issue isn't resolved, or you don't feel comfortable communicating with your host, contact our Customer Experience team immediately.

We'll review the situation, communicate with your host when appropriate, and help determine the best next steps.

If You Suspect Bed Bugs

If you believe you've encountered bed bugs:

  • Take photos of any visible evidence, if possible.

  • Avoid moving your belongings to other rooms.

  • Notify your host immediately.

  • Contact Vidle Housing so we can assist with reviewing the situation.

Our Customer Experience team is available 24/7 through live chat and the Help Center. If you're ever in immediate danger, leave the area if possible and call 911 or your local emergency services before contacting Vidle Housing.
