Fire, Natural Disasters & Emergencies

Unexpected emergencies can happen during your stay. Whether you're affected by a fire, severe weather, a natural disaster, or another emergency, your safety should always come first.

Step 1: Contact Emergency Services

If you're in immediate danger or experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency services immediately.

Examples include:

  • Fire or smoke

  • Gas leaks

  • Medical emergencies

  • Flooding

  • Criminal activity

  • Any situation requiring immediate emergency assistance

If local authorities issue an evacuation order, follow their instructions immediately.

Step 2: Get to a Safe Location

Leave the property if it's unsafe to remain there. Follow any instructions provided by emergency responders or local officials and do not re-enter the property until it has been declared safe.

Step 3: Notify Your Host

Once you're safe, contact your host to let them know how the emergency has affected your stay.

Your host may be able to provide updates about the property, building access, or any temporary restrictions.

Step 4: Contact Vidle Housing
