Because cancellations can significantly impact travelers—especially healthcare professionals relocating for an assignment—we encourage hosts to cancel only when absolutely necessary.
How to Cancel a Reservation
To cancel a confirmed reservation:
Log in to your Vidle Housing Host Dashboard.
Click Reservations in the left-hand menu.
Select the reservation you wish to cancel.
Click Cancel Reservation.
Select or enter the reason for the cancellation.
Submit the cancellation request.
Once submitted, the reservation status will be updated, and the traveler will be notified.
Before You Cancel
If possible, consider whether the issue can be resolved before canceling the reservation.
For example:
A maintenance issue can be repaired before arrival.
A traveler has requested a change in dates.
A minor scheduling conflict can be resolved.
If the reservation can still be honored, it's usually the best outcome for both you and the traveler.
Contact Support for Emergencies
If you're canceling because of:
Property damage.
A maintenance emergency.
The property becoming uninhabitable.
A safety concern.
A double booking.
An availability conflict.
A Major Disruptive Event.
Please contact Vidle Housing Support before canceling whenever possible.
Our team may be able to assist with the situation, communicate with the traveler, or help determine the appropriate next steps.
Keep Your Calendar Updated
After canceling a reservation, review your calendar to make sure your availability is accurate.
If your listing is connected to:
Airbnb Connect.
Hospitable.
Hostaway.
OwnerRez.
An iCal calendar.
Verify that the cancellation has synced correctly across all connected platforms.
