What Happens After Submitting a Reservation Request?

After you submit a Reservation Request, the host will review your request before deciding whether to accept or decline your booking. You'll receive updates throughout the process, so you'll always know the status of your reservation.

Your Request Is Sent to the Host

Once you click Request to Book, your reservation request is sent directly to the host.

The host may review:

  • Your requested travel dates.

  • The number of guests.

  • Any property-specific requirements.

  • Any questions or information you included with your request.

Waiting for a Response

While your request is pending, the host may:

  • Approve your reservation.

  • Decline your reservation.

  • Send you a message if they need additional information.

You'll receive a notification when the host responds.

If Your Reservation Is Approved

If the host accepts your request:

  • Your payment will be processed securely through Stripe.

  • Your reservation will be confirmed.

  • You'll receive a confirmation email with your reservation details.

If Your Reservation Is Declined

If the host is unable to accommodate your request, you'll be notified as soon as the reservation is declined.

You can continue searching for other available properties or submit a Housing Request through Housing On Demand if you need help finding accommodations.

Can I Contact the Host While My Request Is Pending?

Yes. You can continue messaging the host through the Vidle Housing messaging system while your reservation request is pending.

If your reservation has been pending longer than expected or you have questions about your booking, our Customer Experience team is available 24/7 through live chat and the Help Center.
