Prerequisites

  1. The vehicle has been added in Vimcar Fleet.

  2. The geo features have been activated for the vehicle. This allows tracking of the vehicle.

  3. A Vimcar device (dongle or Vimcar box) has been installed in the vehicle.

  4. The vehicle has made at least one trip after installation of the Vimcar device.

Locate a vehicle

A list of all vehicles that have a Vimcar device installed is displayed to the left of the map.
The icons to the right of the vehicles indicate whether tracking is turned on or off.

  2. Click on a vehicle to view its location on the map.

Find the vehicle closest to a specific address

Under Find nearest vehicle, start typing the address in the search field, then select the address when it appears in the list.

The address is pinpointed on the map and the route from the nearest vehicle to the address is displayed. The distance from the vehicle to the address and the approximate driving time are displayed to the left of the map.

Note: The approximate driving time does not take into account the current traffic conditions.

Click Route history to view the routes driven by the vehicle.

To view the distance and driving time for a different vehicle, simply click on that vehicle in the list.

Search for a vehicle

  1. Click the search icon on the left.

  2. Enter a search term, such as the vehicle license plate number, make or nickname.

All vehicles that match the search term are displayed in the list and on the map.

Filter the vehicle list

When you filter the vehicle list, you see only relevant vehicles on the map. This makes it easier to locate vehicles, especially if you have a large fleet.

  1. Click the filter icon on the left and select a filter.

  2. Click Apply.

The filter is highlighted in blue to indicate that the filter is set.

You can use multiple filters. Only vehicles that match all selected filter criteria appear in the vehicles list. For information on creating groups for the Group filter, see Create vehicle groups.

When filters are set, the filter icon is marked with a red dot. Click the filter icon or +more to view all filters.

To remove the filters, click Clear all filters.

Sort the vehicle list

Click the sort icon and select an ascending or descending sort order by make and model, nickname or license plate number.

Pending vehicles

At the bottom of the vehicle list, all vehicles are displayed that have hardware installed, but have not yet made a trip.
