You can add dependent picklists to the Scan app using the Mobile Scan Builder to improve the user experience and ensure accurate data when saving scans as leads or contacts. Picklist and Checkbox fields can act as controlling fields, while Picklist and Multi-Select Picklist fields can be used as dependent fields.

Once added to a Lead or Contact page layout, dependent picklists make data entry easier by guiding users to quickly input relevant information with each scan.

In the Scan app, dependent picklists stay empty until a value is chosen in the controlling field. Once selected, users can pick a value for the dependent field. You can also set a default value for the controlling picklist in Salesforce to make the selection process even faster.
