Visitu’s Kiosk app introduces three distinct modes, each tailored to specific needs: Receptionist, Kiosk, and Touch-Free. Explore the functionalities and capabilities of each mode below.

Receptionist Mode: Receptionist mode functions as a dynamic mobile dashboard, offering multiple tools for on-the-go sign-ins and comprehensive campus tracking. Ideal for mobile receptionists, the mode includes:

  1. Search Name: Locate users in the database by name.

  2. Home Page:

    • SCAN FACE: Match visitors using facial recognition.

    • SCAN BADGE: Quick sign-in with a pre-issued badge.

    • PHONE: Search for visitors by phone number.

    • SCAN ID: Autocomplete visitor info by scanning a driver's license.

    • MANUAL: Manually enter visitor details.

    • WHO'S HERE: View active visits on campus.

    • STUDENT ID: Sign in students by scanning or entering ID.

    • EMPLOYEE ID: Sign in employees by scanning or entering ID.

    • EMERGENCY: Send emergency alerts if enabled.

  3. Favorites Page: Effortlessly manage check-ins and check-outs by adding users to Favorites.

  4. Who's Here Page: Instantly view active visits and sign out visitors.

Kiosk Mode: Designed for self-service, Kiosk mode empowers users to manage their check-ins and attendance effortlessly. Out-of-the-box functionalities include:

  1. Visitor Sign In: ID or manual sign-in.

  2. Visitor Sign Out: Quick sign-out by typing the name.

  3. Student: Student sign-in/out via ID.

  4. Quick Badge: Sign in/out with a Quick Badge QR Code.

  5. Employee ID: Employee sign-in/out via ID.

Customization: Modify Kiosk buttons through the Dashboard:

  • Navigate to Settings -> Kiosk.

  • Add Text Button or Icon Button.

  • Define Label, Icon, and Steps.

  • Save changes.

Touch-Free Mode: An advanced self-serve mode, Touch-Free eliminates the need for direct iPad interaction. Users simply present their Visitu mobile QR code, enabling check-in or attendance via phone. Configure Touch-Free mode through these steps:

  1. Open the iPad app.

  2. Go to Settings.

  3. Select Configure Touch-Free Mode.

  4. Set up Identification Method preferences (Quick Badge, Student ID, Face Identification).

  5. Choose actions post-identification (Send Visitu Mobile Prompt, Display Survey Results, Mark as Tardy, Dismissed, Absent, Present, or Immediate Check-in/out).

  6. Configure survey result checks and preset reasons.

Camera: Visitu’s Kiosk app utilizes the iPad's camera for various scans. The front-facing camera suffices, except for rear camera use in license scans. Switch camera views as needed:

How to Switch Camera View: By default, the app opens with the front-facing camera unless:

  • License scan is enabled, defaulting to the rear camera.

  • Camera has been switched previously.
