Troubleshooting Audio and Camera Issues in Group and Private Classes

How to troubleshoot technical issues in your live classes.

Experiencing technical difficulties with your audio or camera during an online class can be frustrating. This guide is designed to help you quickly identify and resolve these issues, ensuring a smooth and interactive class experience.

Preparation:

  1. Check Internet Connection: Ensure you have a stable and strong internet connection.

  2. Verify Audio Device: Confirm your audio device is connected and functioning.

  3. Browser Compatibility: Make sure your browser has permission to access your microphone and camera. We recommend using the latest version of Google Chrome for optimal performance. If you are using Chrome and need assistance with managing site permissions for your camera or microphone, you can refer to Google’s guide on managing site settings.

At the Start of the Class:

Audio Connection: When you join the class, you'll be prompted to connect your audio device. Follow the on-screen instructions to establish the connection.

  • Reloading the Page: If you encounter any issues, try reloading your webpage. This can often resolve minor connectivity problems.

  • Adjust Settings: If you wish to switch devices, visit the settings page where you can select your preferred audio and camera options.

Ongoing Problems:

  • If issues persist, please contact our technical support team at support@voxy.com. Include screenshots of the issue, specify the browser or app version you're using, and provide a detailed description of the problem. This information will enable us to assist you more effectively.

  • Using a work computer or work Wi-Fi?

If you are joining your class using a company device or your workplace Wi-Fi, corporate firewalls and security settings might block your microphone, camera, or video connection.

Here is what you can do:

    • Try a personal device or network: Switch to a personal computer/tablet or connect using your home Wi-Fi or mobile data.

    • Ask your IT team: If you must use your work device or network, reach out to your company’s IT department. Ask them to allow Voxy and Zoom through the company's network security filters.

By following these steps, most audio and camera issues can be resolved, allowing you to enjoy a productive class experience. For additional help, do not hesitate to reach out to our support team.
