How to book and attend a group class

Group classes are a great way to enhance your language skills in a dynamic, interactive setting. Led by our native-speaking teachers, these sessions help you improve your speaking and listening skills while connecting with fellow learners from all over the world!

Follow these simple steps to reserve your seat and make the most of your experience.

Step 1: Set Your Timezone

This is the most important step! Before you browse or book, please ensure your timezone is set correctly. When your timezone is accurate, all class times will automatically display in your local time, preventing any confusion.

Step 2: Find Your Class

Once your clock is set, browse the available classes to find one that suits your interests.

  1. Navigate to Group Classes: At the top of the page, click on Live Instruction and select Group Classes from the dropdown menu.

  2. Browse Your Options: This page displays classes appropriate for your proficiency level. You can see the lesson theme, the teacher’s name, the date/time, and the specific lesson plan.

  3. Filter by Schedule: Use the filters at the top of the page to select specific days of the week or time ranges to narrow down your options.

Step 3: Reserve Your Seat

Once you've found a class you're excited about, it's time to book it.

  • Click Reserve: Simply click the Reserve button for your chosen class.

  • Confirm Your Spot: Once confirmed, the class will move to the top of the page, and the button will change to "Class Reserved."

  • Please note: You can only reserve one group class at a time. After you attend the session, you’ll be able to book your next one.

Step 4: Join the Class

When it’s time for your lesson, joining is just a click away.

  1. Look for the Green Button: Five minutes before the start time, the "Class Reserved" status will change to a green Join Now button.

  2. Punctuality Matters: You have up to 5 minutes after the class starts to enter the room.

  3. Enter the Classroom: After clicking "Join Now," click on Join the meeting to meet your teacher and classmates.

Pro Tip: For the best experience, turn your camera on! Interactions are much more engaging when everyone can see each other. Please use a headset with a microphone and stay in a quiet place.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

If you have trouble with your camera or audio, try these quick fixes:

  • Close Other Apps: Ensure Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams are completely closed.

  • Update Your Browser: Use the latest version of Google Chrome for the best stability.

  • Clear Your Cache: If problems persist, try clearing your browser's cookies and cache data.- Lesson Link Stability: In most cases, the lesson link for a group class remains unchanged after booking. However, unforeseen circumstances, such as a teacher substituting the lesson plan, may result in a change to the lesson link.

How to Cancel or Reschedule

If your plans change, you must cancel before the "Join Now" button appears (at least 5 minutes before class starts). Check our article, Can I cancel or reschedule my group class? for detailed instructions.
