If you are having trouble recording your answers for the oral part of the Voxy Proficiency Assessment (VPA) first make sure the Voxy website has the authorization to access your microphone. To do that, click on the icon beside the website URL, and then, ensure your Mic is allowed:

Additionally, ensure you are in a quiet environment with minimal background noise to facilitate clear audio recording. Complete the oral section in one continuous session without pausing, as exiting after hearing a question will prevent you from replaying it when you return.

You can also allow Voxy to access your microphone in the Chrome browser by following these steps:

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.

  2. At the top right, select the three dots and then Settings.

  3. Select Privacy and security, then Site settings.

  4. Under "Permissions," select Microphone.

  5. Select the option you want as your default setting. You can also:

    • Review sites that are allowed or not allowed.

    • Remove an existing exception or permission: On the right of the site, select Delete .

    • Allow a site that is currently not allowed: Under "Not allowed to use your microphone," select the site's name and change the microphone permission to "Allow."

Here are some other possible solutions to this problem:

If the test gets interrupted, you can reopen the assessment from the oral exam activity page or the test link to resume and continue through the questions.

  • Browser: Try accessing your Voxy course with Google Chrome browser.

  • Check Your Microphone: Make sure the problem isn’t with your microphone. Check that it's on, plugged in, and working with other apps. You can also try refreshing the page or restarting your computer and browser.

  • Sound Settings: Go to your device's settings and check if the sound is working properly.

  • Permissions for Voxy: If you’re using the recommended browser, make sure Voxy is allowed to use your microphone. If you’ve denied permission before, just follow the steps mentioned earlier in this article to adjust your settings.
