How VRTO adapts to your training environment
During onboarding and anytime through your Training Profile, you can tell VRTO where you train:
Gym
Home
VRTO uses this to build a program that fits your equipment, space, and training style.
When you update your environment, VRTO:
Changes your exercise selection
Updates your weekly structure
Swaps equipment-heavy movements for accessible alternatives
Adjusts progression to match the tools you have
Recommends the best program variant for your setup
You always get a plan that is doable with the space and equipment you’ve got.
What exercise substitutions look like
VRTO automatically swaps movements when needed. For example:
If you’re training at home
Gym exercises like:
Barbell squats
Cable pull-downs
Machine presses
Leg extensions
May be replaced with:
Dumbbell or kettlebell variations
Resistance band movements
Bodyweight options
Minimal-equipment progressions (e.g., tempo work, higher-rep sets)
If you’re in a full gym
VRTO uses a wider range of machines, barbells, and cable movements to maximise training variety and stimulus.
What equipment is needed for different program types
Gym Programs

Full racks
Barbells,dumbbells & plates
Cable machines
Dumbbells + benches
Resistance machines

Bodyweight movements
You can train effectively even with minimal gear.
How to change your environment anytime
If your setup changes first check the program variants available for your current program by selecting the re-mix icon on top right in your training module. If your current program has home or gym options available you will see it listed there. If not then proceed to your training profile to re-calibrate the best program for you
Go to Profile
Tap My Training Profile
Update your Training Environment
Confirm changes
VRTO will re-recommend the best-fit program or adjust your current one
This is helpful if you:
Travel frequently
Move between home and gym
Only have equipment on certain days
Need a lower-equipment option temporarily
How VRTO handles progression with limited equipment
Even with minimal equipment, VRTO ensures you keep progressing using:
Rep increases
Added difficulty through tempo
Longer time under tension
Reduced rest periods
Higher total volume
Advanced bodyweight progressions
This keeps your training challenging even with fewer tools.
